on the 7 series, the extend and retract buttons are for string wrap, not the net wrap. When this issue happens it can be caused by low voltage.

Check electrical connection by net actuator. Mine was hot. Bad connection. Hard wired problem gone. Flipping net wrap flapper will stop net feeding. If actuator cant reach full stroke it mess up also. Has internal limit switches.

Check your power plug ground connection.
