Forcing helmet use for rock scrambling for a group of coordinated teenagers is a bit overkill. Few wear helmets scrambling on 5.0-5.5 rated climbing. This would be akin to saying one should wear a helmet when walking the steep streets of San Francisco. Helmets are for top rope and lead climbing and are required gear to accommodate for the dangers of falling rocks and possible head injuries from falls. Encouraging and teaching proper risk management will be more fruitful than forcing overprotective measures when they're not needed.

I always interpreted it this way, too. The main character leaving with his family while the two characters who had previously been chasing him more or less stand in awe of the Spaniards has always reinforced the idea that the apocalypse was just getting started.
@ratdoller772 жыл бұрын
I have never once heard the idea that the spanish ships were supposed to be seen as a good thing. Also it kind of ignores the fact that something insane like 90% of the native population already died because of disease between the time columbus landed and the settlers came over so it literally was an apocalypse to them (Though i doubt mel even knew this let alone was intended), and then the spanish come and fuck them (in multiple ways) even more. To me mel wouldn't have used spanish ships if he wanted it to be "and than jesus saves the day" because in US history its taught that the spanish just killed or sieged everyone into submission where we (the US/english) were just buddies look we ate thanksgiving together.

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires a minimum of not less than $4.25 per hour for employees under 20 years of age during their first 90 consecutive calendar days of employment with an employer. After 90 days of employment, or when the worker reaches age 20 (whichever comes first), the worker must receive the minimum wage.
