Thank you! I just turned 58 and am divorced (twice now) from the same woman. I have little to no desire to try to please another person just to not feel lonely . I retire at the end of the year and am searching for the right vehicle to start my new adventure. I decided to start working on self care while enjoying other types of relationships. My children and friends and family are my rock. Single/Married or divorced should not be a label that defines us. I am deeply inspired by your zest for life and I enjoy watching your adVANture unfold. Thank you for sharing!

Married her twice….man that was stupid. NEVER EVER rechew your gum. I retired at 50, found I didn’t need a woman or her baggage. If I find one who has MY same interest that I can tolerate, I will let her into my life, otherwise for company - I’ll get a dog!

Hi Tracey. Just found your channel and agree with you 100%. I married very young (18) to a Navy man thinking I couldn't stay single and accomplish anything with no real money. I thought I could get to travel and go to school and start a business etc etc. Three children later I was trapped into family life and small attempts at school and business did not work out. Then he retired from the military and suddenly was home with me for the first time and I learned he would never be the husband I wanted. I stayed in the marriage, had two more children, and worked plus had a small business. He disappointed me many times but was a good person down deep and I could have done far worse. When I was 55 he had a massive heart attack and passed away at 58. Suddenly I was single for the first time in my adult life. My children thought I would remarry quickly but how wrong they were. I have many friends both male and female but have no desire to ever remarry. It just did not happen and I have no regrets. I have been an avid rver for many years and still a solo full timer in Florida. I'm 91 years old now, drive my motorhome and do all the necessary chores of daily life on the road or in a campground. Need more tech help now but still do whatever I can still do. I am happy and contented in my RV life and keep in touch with my children and grandchildren back home. I sell on Ebay, play with a few Stocks on Robinhood and am addicted to KZbin channels about RVing, Reselling, Geopolitical news and the stock market. Never a dull moment and many decisions to make every day as you mentioned. Keeps my mind sharp! LOL! Just subbed to your channel. Stay happy!

I got divorced at 23 and knew I would never marry again. I raised my daughter and have enjoyed my life. I dated off and on. Back in 2015 I tried living with someone ..... it only lasted two years. Now at 62 I am content with my life. Inner peace is worth so much. All of my friends are divorced and they don't want to remarry.

Many who have children suffer. Many also enjoy though they have to suffer to some extent bringing them up. All their problems are your problems. Life is so short, how much time have you spent your time on them by the time they grown up? So if your child is healthy and a good person, you are lucky. So being single per se need not mean it must be a bad thing

@@lynns8057 Why are you women capping? Capping means insincere. Women are typically the problem in most relationships. Most Women are selfish, narcissistic, ungrateful, self-destructive, controlling, and can be downright savages. Western society has painted the picture of men being animals, but it's the opposite. They say boys are snakes and snails and puppy dog tails. Girls are sugar and spice and everything nice, shiiiiiiiiid! In the garden, who did Eve listen to? Was it God, her husband Adam, or the devil? Nothing much has changed, and these are facts, not feelings.

Hi Tracey, I'm 42, divorced twice, and your video just popped up on my video recommendation. You can't even imagine how good it feels to hear another person thinking the same way you do. I was married two times, fifteen years each time. That is more than half of my life. Both of these marriages were horrendous. Full of deceit, manipulation and betrayal. I've been single for four years now. I am just now getting to know myself. Focusing on myself never again will I be held responsible for somebody else's happiness. I will often start the think I'm lonely, and then bam I will have a flashback or a nightmare. And then I'll spend the next few days feeling extremely grateful. I'm grateful I have anything left including my self-respect. It turns out I actually like myself best company I've ever had.

Good Morning. I loved your whole video. I’m 54 & am trying to start my own VanLife myself. I’m divorced (4 years) separated at 6 years. I was curious how anyone dated on the road. I am really looking forward to just going to places that I have always wanted too. All the historical sites. Just to finally being alone and in my own head. I’m tired of trying to figure someone out. Especially, if I don’t know who I am. Yes, some of the choices I make are part of me. When you guys started with the pop rocks, I laughed so hard that I almost fell out of my chair. This was so the video I needed to watch. You have no idea! As I prepare to follow a similar path as you do, you’ve touched on a topic that has really left me with a lot of questions and wondering. On the full timers I watch aren’t able to address this because most of them are couples or families. I find your videos fill a void in the puzzle. I am putting together that will show me the roadmap I want to be on. You are very real and you are not afraid to be very raw about your life. I honestly can’t tell you the impact watching this video has had at 55 years old. You have not given me a renewed sense of confidence and peace. I know realize it’s OK to just be me, and not worry about falling into the norm or stereotype that others feel I should fit. I still hope she comes along one day in my life but I’m OK right now. Thanks so much!

I just recently completed my 78th trip around the sun, and have been single for the last 32 years. I finally stopped all interpersonal relationships in 2014, and since then I've become very protective of my simple, single, unencumbered life. It takes a while to adjust to the loneliness of not having someone to share time with, but eventually we all adjust, and I'm fine with that. I've crossed the Atlantic 36 times, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper and more fun when you travel by yourself and have no one to ask permission of. Life is good

On the more serious side, I’ve had both types of relationships. I’ll never mold or diminish myself to be what someone wants me to be ever again. In the end, I ended up with the love of my life who loved me for me. We said until death do us part and that’s how it went. I know you’re right. If it happens organically, fine. If not, your life is good. Keep sharing your adventures. OMG!😂 I can visualize the T-shirt! All that and pop rocks! You made my evening. Thank you.

I'll be 63. I have the most fantastic life I've ever had in my life at the moment. I'm not wealthy, I'm on ssdi but through the veterans administration I live in a beautiful community in clearwater Florida. Everything is perfect. I can create my abstract art, my time is my time now. Only when you are at peace with yourself and know yourself, which takes time to live alone, can you then have a healthy relationship with someone (unless you get lucky). Too many people rush into marriage and don't keep their vows because they were not really ready yet, they thought love would carry them through. Anyway., I'm delighted you're happy with you're life now, its an adventure so enjoy it, with or without anyone else. Peace and love too you.

In my eye, you hit a home run on this video topic. Im retired and had planned on travel in the van with my wife the powers to be decide otherwise with her passing just months from her retirement. So Im now into the van life solo and can relate to what you are talking about. I do have a home base to start my road trips from. So, having a home base. I joined three dating apps and am trying to meet someone while im at my homebase but then leave for months just doesn't work out. So now im looking to meet another van'ers. Maybe then that connection will happen. Being a seasoned male, im not about to change my ways at this stage. But being happily married for 37 years, i did learn how to treat a woman. So i have that going for me. Spent some time this winter in Arizona and did meet a couple of incredible younger women in their vans, but if i were only 30 to 40 years younger than maybe. For now, like you said, im finding peace in travelling solo but keeping my opinions open.

Just became a new subscriber this morning...catching your video while perusing KZbin on 'van-life' albeit I have a Class A at the moment, I've often wondered how desirable a van would be, so I will have to catch many of your previous video's when time allows! Interestingly, I ride an e-bike as well, and have over 2,000 miles on mine now, and enjoy riding it very much, albeit in residential/city limits, it can be more difficult if there are not bike lanes of course. Thanks for taking taking the time to be open with us all, and as mentioned, I'll catch your other video's one day soon. On edit: Also, just as you know, many of us are lonely whilst in our relationships, wondering what the answers are for fulfilment of happiness we once knew! Late on in life, many choose 'companionship' not marriage, with the ability to just walk away if it's not working, and I feel as we age, we should all use that sentiment of freedom.

Hi Tracey! I almost didn't watch this episode BUT so glad I did. I was married for 28 yrs, have 3 wonderful "kids"who are industrious and meeting THEIR goals. I haven't dated for 7 years. I am so content that I thank God for my beautiful life at least daily. I'm glad I watched this video because I realize that my inner peace and contentment is invaluable...the ultimate goal in life for me.

Thank you fro sharing. I am almost 60 and the peace I have by not being in a relationship is phenomenal. The only time I really feel stress is when my 23 year old visits and gets less than pleasant. He is heading to law school and maybe by the time he graduates there will be more pleasant and less cranky (unless of course, being a lawyer makes him less pleasant?)

I'm 54 been single for 4 years now and that was a short relationship,to be honest the older you get the more you realise you don't need to be with someone and you value the simple things in life ,I do get lonely but it's a natural feeling but I'm happy and I think being happy is safe .

We should all give each other the space and freedom to be individuals. I appreciate when people tell me their negative thoughts on tattoos. They are letting me know right off the bat that they will judge me because I am different then them. They are forewarning me. Thanks for sharing.

You have a healthy attitude towards your life circumstances, but….. and why is there always a but…. living on the road I pretty much thought like yourself, but here’s the thing. Inadvertently, as I now know, the mental solitude I thought I was handling quite well went on for so long, I seemed to psychologically convince myself, I didn’t need anybody else in my life. But now as an old person, I accept that way of thinking, if not corrected, can in the end almost inevitably attract loneliness and that is something for people to stay away from at all cost if they can. However, you seem to be rocking your lifestyle, so good for you. It’s nice to see a happy person! 🤗

I just heard that hyper independence is a response to trauma. That is totally plausible. I’m not alone though. I’m at the rv park with my friends Keith and Jon and when I’m traveling on the road it’s always to a destination somewhere usually to see someone. I enjoy the alone time in between. 😁💜

Your story is similar to mine. My son is out of college now though and on his own. Like you, when one gets a certain age, it's not like you feel like you just need a relationship or you're going to die. If it happens it happens but I'm happy with or without someone. Door isn't closed but life can be fulfilling either way. I must say, you look good even when you just wake up in the morning. lol Safe travels wherever you go!

I learned a lot from my last relationship. Enough to know that two people need to be happy when they are alone as much as when they are happy together.

Date? What's that? Lol... It's been a while. I agree that people try to become something they are not, to be loved and accepted by another person. Some probably do it unintentionally and others do it to take control. Being content alone is more important and if you do meet someone and it works out, all the better. More common sense insights, thanks Tracey! DANG! POP ROCKS! 👍😬😸

You should be a counselor. Your videos popped up in my RV-ish feed and and I started one up as I was working, just listening. I'm a few videos in and...I really dig your vibe. I'm 52 and in this place where I'm seeing what's at the end rather than what's in the present, with my own regrets of what's behind me. I appreciate your candidness and adventurous spirit. Enjoying your content. Take care out there.

I have a friend who's husband passed away, and she got into a relationship with another guy pretty quickly, and is very obsessed with this guy. The whole situation is so unhealthy. I also lost my husband, but I am ok with being alone. As a matter of fact I prefer it. I had a good marriage, but I want to get to know me and my capabilities. Never had that because I always relied on him.

You are an amazing person. I’d say women but with todays rules I just don’t know. I’m older but watching these living in van videos has really opened my vision. I’m married a long time and a veteran so I know loneliness and heartbreak but if something were to happen I would pack up and leave it all behind immediately. I’ve already started downsizing because all the material things just don’t matter anymore. I love learning and I’m capable of teaching myself and taking courses just for self fulfillment. The things I enjoy I would take with me and just drive on. Anyway l look forward to following your story and safe travels. Artie 😊

Love your relationship with John and Keith! Pop Rocks taste off - drum roll - grape wins! The mean rooster may have to go! And, there needs to be a secure roost to shut the chickens in at night for them to survive the night predators.chickens are so good to have around to eat insects.

Hello , you’re right I am 56 and since two years I live in my RV. I am happy and I always dated around but now I found a person which wanna share this crazy gipsy life with me. We tested twice times if we compare and now she gave up everything to move in my RV …than we will stay in Europe to organize everything and after in November we start to our next trip to Africa together … I couldn’t imagine to change my lifestyle anymore … because these kind of living is what makes me happy at all. It’s not easy to find a person who compares and before it always hurts to leave but I had to leave always after some time because to live in motion is my passion. So may one day you find someone who will think the way you do as well. But in this lifestyle it’s not necessary at all fbecause you always find nice people to talk to… thanks for your video … stay on the road … and stay happy ! Lovely greetings from the other side of the world …. Dirk
