My father was in the Canadian Military for 22 years. Part of his job was listening through headphones at a high sound to hear radio chatter and Morse Code during the Cold War. He has seen an Audiologist here in Canada. Thankfully, even though he wore those headphones for that many years, he was his hearing is only slightly diminished in both ears, but not to the point that he needs Hearing Aids. He just turned 81 years old this past April. Even with Covid, his Audiologist called, set up an appointment, he went in, and there has been no further loss of hearing from his first appointment 10 years ago. He does have to do the Olive Oil Spray in his ears to help with wax and skin migration. But as he says, the If that's all I have to do once a month? I'm very, very lucky. Thank you for sharing your videos and educating people on the correct way to take care of their ears to avoid issues like you shoe. From the daughter of a Canadian Military Veteran of 22 years, wishing everyone Many Blessings and to Stay Safe. 💖 💖 🇨🇦 Jenn.

These are ENT worthy cases, often removed under general anesthesia. Bloody brilliant that you can do these tolerably while awake with no medicine or freezing on board! Saving the patient endless grief and a major hospital event. Just incredible. This one needed scales for sure. With oil would have weighed even more but might have been horrible added pressure. Amazing talent. Tiny ear canal. Smaller than your little finger. Just shaking my head about down votes and criticizing this incredible audiologist. Gosh 🤩

Fantastic job on what looked like a very grueling procedure to perform. Good point about how we would feel as the patient. I think that it’s easy to comment based on what we are looking at, because we are not working with the patient and cannot always appreciate that their comfort is something you need to take into account, as well. I hope this patient does come in more regularly as recommended by you.Thanks!

It's the weirdest thing, but I find ear wax removal videos strangely relaxing and satisfying. My daughter is hard of hearing, profoundly deaf in one ear and the wax in her ears is very dark. We were told that people who wear hearing aids almost always have thick, dark wax, because the ears are trying to naturally move the aids out.

Mr Neel provided compassionate care, never losing focus on what was best for the patient. An impressive achievement. Anyone who has suffered serious ear pain will empathize with his patient. Did the patient put off her visit to Mr Neel because of Covid-19 concerns? In the US, possible exposure to the virus kept lots of older people away from medical care, especially early in 2020 when even the most highly trained medical experts knew almost nothing about the new virus and misinformation was rampant. When I was a child, I would wake up screaming from middle of the night earaches. My parents did their best taking me to the pediatrician frequently. He gave me penicillin injections. Such was the state of US ear care in the early 1950s. I can still remember the pain. I don't have much trouble with earache now and wonder if my sinus and asthma medications have helped. It is awesome to know that better ear care is now available, at least in the UK. I hope that some of the people Mr Neel trains will practice in the US.

Thanks for the video !! I too am facing a very impacted ear! It was very infected and both ears are affected ! I also came down with the upper respiratory infection to ear infections in the middle of summer and I had allergies and I just thought I was going hard of hearing because other doctors had looked in my ears before and didn’t say anything about them being so impacted when I saw this doctor they were so bad that they could not see the eardrum on either side. After 7 days of antibiotics I came back for the Doctor to remove the wax impaction but it was unsuccessful so I was referred to an ENT Dr so that’s what I will do on Monday following this weekend!! I can’t wait to get this out and I will follow my doctors and your thoughts on how to care for them in the near future! I never want this as an issue again!!

@hunbun283 жыл бұрын
I mean they're probably for learning but I do find them entertaining on some level, why else would we watch them. 4A longtime dr. Neil did not talk during his videos other than him and the patient interacting . He he only started explaining what's going on in the video less than a year ago. But I still find his videos from a couple years ago just as interesting. I also watch the doctor from China but I don't understand what he says oh, but I really love his videos. One of the reasons I just start watching was because when I was younger I had a lot of ear issues I wanted to see what actually they do when I go in for ear wax removals. And another thing is that I always pick at my skin and watching these videos actually helps take away the desire or the need to do it. I know it sounds screwed up but a lot of people have this disorder it's just that people don't talk about it a lot

That was awesome! I don't know what the psychology is behind it, but it's exciting and stress relieving to watch the complete purification, unrelated to ear wax, I have had several surgeries for spinal issues, had a morphine pump for years they had to remove for other physical complications, my faith has helped me deal with pain and getting off opioids, but since they removed the pump, I have a constant ringing in both ears, maybe I didn't notice it with dulled senses. But it increases to a grinding noise just as my BP drops and I sometimes black out. I have so many doctors, u really don't want to start with ENT. But wondering if any of my pinched nerves Cervical, Thoracic, lumbar and sachrial would cause the ringing. Obviously you can't diagnose, but it's a curiosity. I have notable over-active nerves from chronic opioid use from 2006-2018, thanks again, God bless

Really interesting video! At what point would the patient have felt relief from the horrible earache? Would it have been when you moved that big bit of wax/keratin that brought all the other wax forward from the middle ear? I found the general ear care info helpful. Have you thought about doing a video solely on that in the future, maybe with demos on how to prevent ear problems? I think it could be quite useful 😉
