I was amazed when my very vetted midwife said "just eat healthy" when I asked her what foods to eat or what to avoid

After I cut out grains I lost so much weight and I already was not that fat so I've been using an app to track my calories and the more I followed the apps guidelines for how many calories I should eat the more weight I was able to gain. But how can a person gain weight without a carby diet?

Oh my gosh the foods to avoid list because of danger of contamination and disease is so crazy and I think adds extra stress to a pregnant woman! If you've gotten your whole life never getting foodborne illnesses then why should you worry about it extra at pregnancy?
