Great video and thank you for this. I currently runa 5800x3d, ddr4 32gb 3733mhz and 4090. And i was also considering am5 upgrade to 7800x3d for a better gaming experience, also i game on 4k LG C2 42". So i have my answer with this video, the upgrade for me alone ( Iceland ) from am4 to am5 would be around 1000$. I think i´ll wait for the next gen Ryzen x3d. 5800x3d is by far the best budget gaming cpu and also it can keep up with latest amd/intel cpus.

Let’s not forget about boot times for AM5 are horrendous, I have 2 rigs I use 5800X3D (AM4) and 7800X3D(AM5) although the AM5 performs slightly better, I often prefer using my AM4 build for the fact that everything from booting the PC to opening apps are basically instantaneous, where as the AM5 build takes a few mins to boot up same with opening apps like steam for example takes a little longer and isn’t instant like the AM4 is. Something minor honestly but worth mentioning cause the performance is damn near the same between them
@be_dontpeekme62314 ай бұрын
Weird, my am5 pc boots up in 15 sec and also have no issues with apps opening slowly. Boot times can be slow on some boards smt but apps openingen slower has nothing to do with am5. Ur pc is prob bricked somewhere
@plaio804 ай бұрын
There are two options that you need to change in your mobo setting in order to speed up boot times, the am5 platform is memory training at every start up, but this can be skipped and then the system will boot a first and save the optimal memory training settings and it will boot in 15seconda the second time you start your system. Look for a guide about your specific mobo to see where you can find the settings that must be changed. On my asus tuf x670e, they are called: -Memory context restore -Power down enable Switch both from "auto" to "enabled" and it should fix your boot times.

Have you ever made an MSI afterburner+ RTSS vid where you go over how you set yours up? I swear I'm not getting the correct values when it comes to my cpu clocks on my 7800X3D. In tarkov for example it reads at either 5050MHz or 4850MHz nothing in between and my windows task manager shows much more fluctuation and typically a speed of 4.7GHz.
@pyurologie4 ай бұрын
unfortunately, I'm not sharing my overlay config anymore. you can use something like CPU z to see individual cores though, many programs will just show the average speed of all cores
@senmage4 ай бұрын
@@pyurologie thanks for the reply. I recently discovered RTSS has a built in OSD and OSD editor so I’m messing with that now and it seems I can get the correct values from HWinfo now imported to the OSD
