Would like to see your test at 4k all settings epic with the ram speeds and different RAM sizes. On my rig at those settings, I tried a 48GB DDR5 set at 82000mhz and a 64GB DDR5 kit at 6400mhz and found a 1 FPS difference at 4K between the two kits. For reference, everything was liquid cooled including the ram kits on a Z790 Apex Encore with direct die 14900K (binned equal to a 14900KS) and Strix 4090 in double side active EK water block. I am starting to think after my own test and ones like yours that it only matters if you game on the lower resolutions but for most people switching to 2K and 4K gaming it's a moot point in ram speeds for DDR5 at the moment.

FSR and DLSS also make this game look kinda... bad? imo of course. That being said, will any of your hardware testing be done without either?
@pyurologie5 ай бұрын
yeah, I have a graphics optimization video coming out soon. working on testing everything right now. They definitely created the game with the expectation that scaling will be used considering the default setting has it enabled and they've officially recommended it as well. Even with a 4090, on epic graphics settings without DLSS, the framerate leaves a lot to be desired
@humain_humain14655 ай бұрын
2 questions : What about without DLSS ( series 4000 are strong with that thing on ) ? What about RAM quantity effect (16 , 32 , 64 GB ) ?
@pyurologie5 ай бұрын
Without DLSS, the frame rate numbers will drop quite a bit. I have more tests incoming I'll show that. RAM quantity comparisons coming soon too, stay tuned. Haven't tested enough to say definitively yet.

what happens if you are playing ultra settings on a demanding game with ray tracing on 1440p? Will the cpu switch to ram instead of cache or use both?
@pyurologieАй бұрын
depends on the game but yeah theoretically if L3 cache bandwidth is saturated, it will then go to RAM

there's usually a way to tweak settings to get decent performance, but it definitely helps to get faster RAM

50 Celcius honestly isin't that high. Even a hotspot of 57 is fine. My 4090 runs higher in some games but, I had a old case and not as good of airflow in it. I really hope they make some good cases by the end of this year. I was thinking of getting the phanteks nv9 but, my current psu does not support it since the cables are too short for that case since I got the msi psu that shows u ur plugged in correctly for the colour goated yellwo cable. And I don't like pc channels that cover case reviews cause they always do "standardized testing which is really dumb imo. If I am buying a case I am gonna fill out all the pc fan slots and make sure to have a positive airflow.
