Just did this repair on an HP M551, and i have another that needs it as well. I thought it would be as easy as the CP3525 but i found once i got it opened up the solenoid was locked in there. There is a metal tab on the side where the fuser entry that i just bend outward which made it easy to get the gear assembly out. I want to thank you for the idea of heat shrink wrap as i previously always used electrical tape since the hp 4000 laserjet days. it worked well but there was a few repeats after a long period where the tape would come loose. I had thought about using Plasti dip spray/liquid but it has way too long dry period for field repair. It might work if i had pre repaired solenoid that way but not viable in the field on call. Heat shrink wrap works really well and i don't have to worry about it coming loose. Thank you for posting these videos! I currently don't work for a company but have done printer repair for many years and always love to learn and see what other technicians can come up with as alternatives. Also, i don't know why HP still uses this silly noise dampening pad. They have not changed the design and i guess they don't care as it probably outlast the warranty before failing. It is however a shame because these solenoid pads will fail just takes a while.

Also meant to add, the very first time i repaired one of these solenoids on a HP 8150, tray 3 addon feeder if i recall. I cleaned the pad completely off and thought it was just there for noise only. However i found out real quick the solenoid stays magnetized enough to keep the plate stuck in open position. Then the only thing i could think of was electrical tape cause it was all i had at the time on me. I used to order the solenoids new but they were old new. as in new in box, but old sitting on shelf for long time. So they new replacements seemed to fail rather fast within months even. Sometimes we ordered refurbished ones but they were hit and miss on quality and had high failure rate also. So i just stuck with tape. Heat shrink tubing never even crossed my mind!

Thank You for making this video! You are a life saver, i have NO training what so ever repearing printers, but thanks to you I was able to follow your instructions in detail, I cant thank you enough!

Hello!. My HP M575 began doing this yesterday. It cleared after a boot but happened again. And today there is no way to get rid of it. So I ended here!. Even if I repair electronics for a living since 90s (my work is mostly on radio equipment), it seems a bit daunting work 😅 . But eventually, I should do it, as now I am printer-less and I need to print some things for my work almost daily (shipping labels and such). I will get back when I do the work. Thanks a lot for sharing it!

Eu tenho uma M551 e só dá pra retirar o solenoide retirando todo o motor. Foi um parto, mas resolvi. Parabéns pelo vídeo.

I follow you step by step, same error

I had to reboot mine multiple times to clear the code. If, after some reboots it still persists, it could be a few things. 1. you didn't get something put back together correctly, which can encompass a not getting the gear assemblies perfectly fitted, or a possible loose harness connection, or even not cleaning the solenoid well enough and reapplying the buffer it needs to prevent magnetism. 2. the fuser drive assembly is bad. 3. the transfer belt is bad. double check your work and be prepared to replace the fuser drive assembly and/or belt.

@@ShyRockFreak86 The small gear assemblies are tricky, some of them are keyed and notched - i almost didn't notice mine was off a tiny bit. when i take my next one apart ill try to take a picture of the gears. Also when reinserting the whole assembly one of the gears have a shaft that moves and needs to be lined up into a hole, it easily will come right back out when shifting and wiggling the gear drive back into place.

hi. i wanna ask you something. i had a printer model HP LaserJet Enterprise 700 color MFP M775dn, got problem with tray 2, paper got jam every time. usually problem with pickup solenoid. the question is, where this solenoid located? do you have a video or guide that i can follow to reach the solenoid?
@ShyRockFreak862 ай бұрын
This model probably has the pick up motor with solenoid in a small assembly, but I have a feeling it’s the plastic bushing that sits in the hole of the frame for the main pickup axle. I have not attempted to replace that bushing to see if that would fix the issue, which is a no pick misfeed jam, I presume. The process is similar in that you disassemble the machine and remove anything in the way of the pickup assembly. Things like the DC Controller, Low Voltage Power Supply(maybe), and brackets.. I’ve never had an M775 torn apart to know exactly.. I imagine the inside is similar to the CP4525, or M551/575 in that the pickup motor and solenoid are housed together in a bracket with a few gears assembly. Good luck

i did the same thing for this 59.00.F0 error. Now printer seems working fine, Let us see if again this error reoccurs or not. I will update after some days of observation.

@@saleemnls if you cleaned and installed a good pad on the solenoid, that error will not occur again for the solenoid. If the error occurs again it will be fuser drive assembly

Hello, I follow your instructions and I fix my printer, now its printing funny, I uploaded a vídeo where its showing how its printing, Its the only video I have, its actually a short, can you please check it, and tell me if you have any ideas why its printing like that? Right before it show the error 59, it was printing perfect, Thank you for your help.

@@SPACEMONK69POO I would try the Black Toner cartridge, as it may have been exposed to light for too long(the imaging drum), or you might need a new transfer roller, the one that fits in the right door. Might be called the secondary transfer bias or something like that.
