I'm starting to understand more and more without subtitles (or Japanese text on the screen, just pure sound), but on the other hand I'm so getting used to Yoshiesensei perfect voice that it actually becomes part of my "listening skill" :) Because of the perfect pitch and pronunciation - I can distinguish most of words, particles and sentence logical ending on the fly. But then I listen to some random conversations (interviews) on Tokyo streets and *poof* it's all gone, only Japanese subtitles can help me :(

It’s just amazing that you understand without subtitles even though the text is not easy! 🤩 I guess there might be several reasons why you can’t catch random conversations. Many Japanese omit particles and don’t follow grammatical rules so it’s way too hard to understand 😣
