great video! i’m a firewood guy over here just bucking up big oak and maple logs, i have most of the big husky saws, 372,572, and 395, i seem to prefer the 300 series saws better, just seem like they kick in stronger than the 572, i just run full skip husky chain, make my own up, anyhow time is money, how can i get the 395 with 32” bar to spin and cut quicker? you mentioned sprockets, and chain, any intel would be appreciated.

@@stevebillow395 thanks for the info on that, your right but it’s just about negligible, i must of not heard you right in the video, i thought you said pro comp chains, which i never heard of, i’m trying to get some sort of mechanical advantage through either gearing or engine modification to really make the saw sing! some days i beat up a lot of chains either by dirty wood or hitting metal in these homeowner trees so that’s why i stay with the full skip, just to save time sharpening.

@fabzacres-blackcat

@@stevebillow395 there are some videos of guys who have gotten them from overseas and ported them but to my trained eye they don’t seem to run any quicker thru the timber than a strong woods ported 395xp. Stock vs stock it appears the 592xp is gonna walk a stock 395xp but when modded it looks like a wash. I think the manufacturers are making them “hot right out of the box” and the gains are going to be more difficult to get than the older more “choked up versions”. I built a 572xp that has considerably more pull than stock by doing some flow enhancements on the cylinder, piston mods and a tuned tube exhaust while keeping similar mileage. I was surprised how much wood that saw cut on a tank in stock trim and was determined to build one that was strong yet didn’t drink the fuel like a drunken sailor. The cylinder looks similar to the 572 with the exception of cast transfers. It should build similarly. It makes no sense to me why guys try to build a bullet that don’t last 6months and uses excessive amounts of fuel. In my processing/ tree / side work / angle you’re better off with a strong saw that lasts and sips gas as close as Ya can get to the stocker ... imho the “fastest saw cuts the MOST wood using the LEAST amount of fuel” I don’t give a shit how fast the saw cuts , if you’re outta gas when ya still have 1/2 tank of oil you just don’t ain’t gonna get ahead 😎

I like the 572 but not a fan of it on the stump for the size timber I cut. It's a great skidder saw or firewood saw. If your going through bearing like that I'd make a change on what your feed the saw. Iv never lost crank bearings
@austindenotter19
@austindenotter19 3 жыл бұрын
You have the 372 x torq if its newer than 10 years. And yes they do eat up bearings. The original 372 rarely had issues. If you're cutting medium hardwood 572 is fine. Bigger stuff like what Steve cuts the old reliable Husky 390xp is a bulletproof saw. However I am saving up my money right now for a 592 XP.
