Like any design, they go through a phase of being 'modern' then they get 'dated', then they are 'ugly', then they turn into 'beautiful classics'. I actually prefer something like this to the modern spaceships that cost 10x as much. It must be a sign of age! 😁

Browards are symbolic of the Miami yachting scene back in the 50-60’s, were generally well built and radiate the classiness of the period. This is a fine example and with another $100,000 or so in new electronics and operational modernizing… she would hold her own with most new yachts with the added edge of timeless beauty. I grew up in Miami in those decades and my dad’s first yacht was a 110 ft. Broward that served us well for many years in the Caribbean and Central America. She was weatherly and comfortable and gave my my life’s sealegs. My dad moved on to Hattaras sporty’s in the mid 60’s and I wound up there for nearly 40 years of my boat days but I always treasured the Broward. Great review.. I am subscribed now.

Rico's wife is easy to look at and she must of had a class in modeling the way she keeps making love to the camera, that is what most professional camera operators say to their models if the are worth a flip. @Cheryl I grew up in that area. There was no harbor there. It was all a swamp with Lake Los Angeles in the middle of it. They used to have power boat races in the lake every weekend. I remember many a lazy day on a homemade raft in the swamp and lake when I was eight to ten years old. Never saw one seal the whole time. Marina Del Rey was a developers dream that worked out well for people with money. @NautiStyles Loved the yacht. For that money you could have a floating house that is far beyond what you could buy in a house in that area. Wow. With that shallow a draft I would move it to the Philippines where I retired. Hmm... hold that thought for a minute. Nah...I retired, don’t need another job on the upkeep. Would have been a wonderful thought ten years ago, though.

I thought the Bertram 74' was a bargain, but this beauty is a steal. With a larger galley than some yachts in the 130 ft range, this Broward 98' is a serious bit of kit. The engine room is near superyacht capacity. The lounge/dining area was super. The divider was not an eyesore either thanks to a carving or two. That master stateroom was unreal as long as you don't mind an Asian design aesthetic. The kids room was pretty sparse comparted to the guest suite and master, but that will encouage them to get productive and find the money tree. The major downfall on the refurbishment is not adding to the flybridge cover or glassing in that area as well as finish the teak. However at this price you can't ask for more yacht for your money.

Wow, the things I imagine going on in that shower...

Love the country kitchen. Very cozy. The shower in the master was insane. Would have loved to been on board on the Florida to California trip. The Panama Canal would be cool.

That's an amazing price. I'll get it with my next stimulus check.

For that price, I would buy that cruiser in a heartbeat. So much boat for so little money. You can't beat that. Of course, that cloth bimini would have to go :)

Hmmm... that's half the price of the 40' motor cat you folks were thinking of getting -- and that's the problem, isn't it? A lot of people could afford to buy an older big yacht like this, but they couldn't afford the running costs for staff, maintenance, fuel, etc. On the other hand, the people who can afford the running costs can also afford to drop several times more on the boat itself to get the more recent features and gadgets. This tragic catch-22 has left a lot of classy, well-designed older boats withering away unused in harbors around the world. Meanwhile, newer boats made with questionable craftsmanship and blatantly crappy, inefficient interior layouts are still selling for much more, only because they are late-model enough to have a fold-out beach club in the back. It isn't evil, and it isn't a conspiracy. It's just the ways of fashion, which in some ways bite much worse.

all great points, but luckily people still buy and sell older yachts everyday... it’s just depends on your intended application

And diesel fuel at $2.41/gal it would take $13,000 to fill the tank. Wonder what the range on that is.
@animistchannel29834 жыл бұрын
@@tem1939 Well, that always depends on how fast you push it. If you take it easy and let it chug along at 10 knots, you go far. At max speed you get a fraction. Still, just eyeballing the engine horsepower vs fuel tanks and the size & draft of it, I'd guess the long range is at least 3000 miles, enough to cross from New England to Britain with ease. I would want a more scientific calculation first before actually trying, but it might even do San Diego to Hawaii. One good thing about older boats is that, unlike cars, they get about as good in mileage as newer ones of the same hull type / engine power. Diesel engines haven't changed that much in the last 70 years. Also, they weren't expected to be gob-giant race boats so much in decades past, so a lot of them are actually set up to be more efficient.

@@NautiStyles The difficulty is that you have to pretty much buy them cash. It is still alot of boat for the money. The owner is really taking a haircut on this one.

Even if it never left the Marina, it would make a great house.

I enjoy every video I've seen from the two of you put this together ship to ship. I'm 52 young at that and am. now starting my 3rd year in boating as a private chef and a deckhand.. I'm also learning how to be an engineer and everything I watch you tour and how you explain it is great. Perhaps a little more spec in depth would be good, but I'm still learning as I consider. as I consider myself a rookie. Thank you and safe passage to all of you. Please keep recording and sharing with me. my. three daughters love this too. Steve

Beautiful boat well done, some of the décor was a bit gaudy such as the Zebra room. All and all it is a great deal with some upgrades.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.... Love the showers especially the Master bedroom and shower. The galley is gorgeous. Very spacious yacht. Although would have loved to know what type of work it needed engine room wise and co$t. It's really at the top of what I could purchase, would love to live aboard this yacht. What does the end tie cost monthly?

I like the showers too. My thought is the yacht should come with a box of squeegees.
