Your videos is what I needed. I spent hours testing paid CRMs , none ever offered what I wanted. After watching your videos, I finally have a database I always wanted for my business. Thank you so much!

You are so generous with your time and enthusiasm which makes me love Access. My curiosity was piqued when it came out and for some reason the nonprofit decided I didn't need to know Access but see... I think your teaching is just the ticket. Love all your lessons!!!

Yeah, I've been teaching Access since 1996. Listening to the Holy Triumvirate a lot longer than that. :)

Access and VBA can do just about anything. I’ve got an access db set up that’s automatically connecting to a website through an API, scraping data from that website, storing the data in tables, exporting the data into an excel sheet complete with pivot tables, and then sending that spreadsheet attached to an email with custom HTML to make it look professional. The whole process takes about ten seconds and is done fully automatically. I don’t even have to press a button to make it go, it runs on a schedule.

Hi Richard, I need your help please. I remember to watch your video of making the notes default when creating a new report but I can't find it anywhere. Thanks a lot

Another excellent video. So glad I joined. I would love to use this theory to create audit reports. How would you suggest i add paragraph numbering? Thanks.

Very carefully. LOL. If you've joined, post this in the Access Forum on my site and we'll try to figure something out. 599cd.com/AF

After studying access book with dvd and templates 2010 version some years back.. always wanted to ask what is the scope and the specific strategies that can be employed to achieve the top ten templates without any programming. Or are the connected tables/queries/viewing or input forms more or less the same "engine" under the bonnet wearing a different body..?? Thanks
@599CD3 жыл бұрын
You can do a lot without programming. Using Access is a lot like playing with Legos. Same parts, arranged differently.

Thanks Richard for answering. You are a very good instructor .. Your books should come as standard with every MSOffice business or professional sold. Thanks, keep up the good work.. even if the frontiers of software is changing and fragmenting drastically into ever different platforms and the problems that causes with imcompatable skewered documents with different versions.

@@599CD Thanks Richard.. the word layouts would be slightly different.. such as indents layouts etc between newer and older versions when sending to different companys.. job applications and variations between file.doc and newer docx to watch for. so it therefore looks unprofessional if you going for an administration job. and appears amateurish sometimes still send paper printed. Thanks anyway i didnt know big tech could sort out such issues since the version of the recipient varies from old versions right up to todays version. I found out by sending to my own web email page on a library pc. Thanks anyway this is kind of memory lane to me these days..

Richard why are you so against storing attachments and photos in the records ? Is it just the space it takes up ? Or is it speed
@599CD2 жыл бұрын
Mostly size, but speed is also a factor. Access is not designed to store images or other types of files. It will DOUBLE the size of any attachment or image you store in it. Use them sparingly. See 599cd.com/Images
@appleintosh Жыл бұрын
I believe a single access db has a 2GB size limit, so if you’re storing files in the database, you’ll run out of space. The best way to handle this is by storing the image or document or whatever on your storage drive along with the database, and then put a link or the path to the file in your database.
