The user can still print after all this, because File -> Options is still visible. The user can go into Options and remove your custom ribbons. You need to hide File -> Options using the same method for hiding File -> Print. But EVEN with that, the user can still get around it by simply running the query "SELECT * FROM USysRibbons" and see all the content inside the USysRibbons and change it.

Yeah, even after all of this, there's still always a way around it, no matter what you do. So, my goal is to show how to disable the obvious ways a user can print, but someone who knows Access well can always get around these security precautions. They're good enough to keep your "Average Joe" user from misbehaving.

@@599CD The thief likely won't be an average joe, but an Internet bot snooping around vulnerable PCs and grabbing unsecured content in a split second. Nowadays anything that is remotely personal has to be secured. From reading your forums, I notice several users are in the medical profession, and that worries me. That kind of info should have the utmost security and shouldn't be put into Access.

Yeah... I tell people all the time "Access is NOT secure! Don't keep sensitive data like credit card numbers or - in your case - patient data in Access. You're asking for a HIPAA violation."
