It was great to suddenly meet with Isbjørn about halfway to Shetland sailing southwards. We did not do too bad! We made it to Shetland. Tiramisu is now tied up in Lagos, having succesfully sailed The Orcas Ally resting in Orca holes ( like hurricane holes ). Good luck to Falken coming southwards, guess you will stay in at least a 1.000 meters of water.

Are you joking? "this stupid non-racing boat is interfering"? I'm a racer much of the time, but not always, and this is the dumbest take I've heard.

Yes. Yes, we were joking.

I generally like your guys' content, but as a life long sailor, distance racer and sailing Judge this felt a bit rich: "this stupid non-racing boat is interfering with everything, and actually contributed to us having to bail out of the race". The entitlement of your attitude here hits wrong. Racers have no more right to the water than anyone else, nor does it change the rules of who the stand-on vessel is, especially as most distance races revert to standard COLREGS at night. I know you didn't want to "gybe or slow down" but this one is on you guys.

That quote from Andy was obviously tongue-in-cheek, we clearly did not mean anything of what you imply here.

I listened twice, as when you were talking about the challenges of hailing folks by VHF I thought surely it must be satire. But you should know that humour like that doesn't carry well in this context, especially not that kind of story, and it honestly wasn't clear. "Ugh we would have to gybe or slow down. Stupid non-racers" It's not a good look regardless, IMO. Especially the use of the incorrect "right of way" with no real explanation, which just added to the sour taste.
