CSX Abbeville Subdivision is a LEGENDARY RAILFANNING SPOT! It is the spot that brings me to your channel. Now it still gives me many good old memories of old trains like Q616, Q667, Q676, .... Also the 7777 CSX locomotive reminds me of the runaway CSX 8888 train LOL :))

Thank you so much. I'm happy you like it. I couldn't believe that Q210 with this rare KCS/CSX/UP came through during this very short squall. Since you never know if you get a second chance, I had to endure the rain lol.

Good job! I like it when the KCSM ES44AC and the CSX SD40-3 have to be deleted from Q210-01! This was my favorite part from this video.

It was also something unexpected. Q210 has typically only two engines.

Haha, the rain was wet, but I agree it was worth it. Footage that one doesn't get to see every day. Initially, I was upset that the rare event of catching a KCS leader here was almost obscured by the downpour, but fortunately I got a second and third chance under better conditions.

Great video bud. Catching that Bridge Unit was great. Getting one of the rare SD70M's and leading no less. Man you on a roll. Had the SD70MAC #4729 as a leader on a Duke Power train for Brice NC here not long ago. Did we merge with UP or something? You got a lot of variety down there. I see that both the Q58031 and Q58131 were having there rears protected by our new slim ultra light EOT's. The crew on the Q21001 needs to remember where the headlight switches are at. Those one engine lite moves suck. Only allowed 30 MPH. Well time to hit the hay. They just called another train putting me four out. Be safe out there CSX#237377.

Well, the video is somewhat misleading as to the variety of power. Due to lacking time, I recently only went out if something interesting was supposed to show up. GE just produced its 10,000th GEVO - one has the feeling one has already seen them all, at least those in CSX paint... Hope you had a good day.

I never really thought about how much of our nation's military supplies are domestically transported by trains. Also, how do you find out exactly what model a train is like a Dash 8-40CW besides just watching your film for the classification beside the number?
@mbmars01
@mbmars01 7 жыл бұрын
There are unique features that help identify the locomotives (there are good books on the market that describe the history of the loco types and these features in great detail). Also, more or less up-to-date lists of the railroad rosters on the internet help a lot.
@leechristmas9770
@leechristmas9770 7 жыл бұрын
I never knew there were websites with that kind of information. Most EMDs are easy to tell what base model they are but the Dash 8 and 9 and ES, ET, AC, and CW series all look the same to me.

Forgot to answer your question: A hot box detection typically refers to a too high temperature of a wheel, which can have been caused by a brake that wasn't properly released due to friction.

@csxfloridafunnelrailfan3065
@csxfloridafunnelrailfan3065 7 жыл бұрын
mr troy bilt A lot of it is run through power, other times it is balancing power credits, other times its a straight up shortage of locomotives. Also some of these Union Pacific locomotives would be in storage anyways so there is a lot being used both on CSX and NS.

I like Calhoun Falls! It's too far away to go there more often, but sometimes I do. Well, the frequencies are different on different subdivisions. For the CSX Abbeville Sub, it's 160.290 MHz for the dispatcher channel and 161.100 MHz for the road channel.
