@5Pillars Dilly et al, please don't provide us with your views of Muslim family law. You appear not to have an understanding of modernity and are therefore peddling mediaeval Islamic Fiqh which is no longer relevant, either in terms of time or place. Islam's concern, as expressed perfectly in the Qur'an, is with instituting justice, not necessarily to maintain equity as you claim. The problem with traditional mediaeval Fiqh is that it is patriarchal, unjust and outdated. It leads to the turning out of women and children from the safety of the marital home onto the street and penury thereafter. English family law is not perfect, but it at least has mainly prevented this kind of abuse and so is closer in spirit to the Qur'anic prescription of justice. Many aspects of English law are consonant with Islamic law several having been derived from Islam in the first place, e.g. the assumption of innocence until proven guilty and the jury system, the latter having emanated from Maliki Fiqh (see: John Makdisi (1999) North Carolina Review, 77 (5): 1635-1739).

I don’t think that the theory of Pashtuns having Jewish lineage is true, whilst I think there might be some people with strong affiliations, most don’t. I’m Pashtun and my 23andme dna test didn’t have any ties to Jews at all, didn’t even show up on the ancestral calculators either. Pashtuns are afghans originally and they came from central and east Asia

The geneologies are well documented , there is also DNA evidence there is archeological evidence there is also striking similarities between pashtunwali and Jewish law , and even the names of pashtun tribes are similar to the names of Bani Israel. Brother Dilawar needs to differentiate that the environment and economic pressures in Agricultural work is different. Living in the same housing estate has no issues as long as you live in separate houses. There is a unity of family and this is good. Enjoyed the podcast, was really refreshing! Just want to add re the discussion you had on Tabarruj. - a reason that sisters who engage in this is cos they may have observed men show a liking/ look at women who do engage in overly beautifying themselves openly. And women are weak and when they see this, they feel they need to do it too. Women and men both need to be stronger and more grounded to avoid this issue.

The thing about a nation state, is that borders can only be developed in Islam when their is Caliphate. Within the borders of the caliphate can be many different tribes of people who are able to live autonomously and govern themselves, but they will be subservient to a Caliph. They will not be “presidents”, but they will be governors. They will not be able to unanimously be able to enforce policy that the caliph does not allow. This is what a khariji does. But they will have the same influence of a president of a “nation state” just with a different title as to separate ourself from the kufar. There is a Hadith that says “The Caliphate will remain with Quraysh, and whoever renegades against them, Allah will throw him on his face and send the worst of Allahs creation against them”. This has already happened. So when this umma is ready to be subservient to a man from the lineage of Quraysh, not Najd, not a Turk, not a Mongol, not a Punjabi… then we will see the resurrection of an Islamic Caliphate. Until then, we will get despot leaders, fiat currency, and traitors in positions of authority. And we will have no one except ourselves to blame. If this umma wants to argue with Allah why he decided that Quraysh will lead this umma, then he should find a ladder to the heavens and argue with Allah. These Muslims are like the bani Israel who argued with Allah appointing Talut to be their king.

@@aibel99 and who said you shouldn't be proud of it?? I don't care who researched what. Allah Almighty says in the Quran to marry 2,3 and 4 before He even mentions one - forget sunnah, it has been fully endorsed by Allah Himself!
@aibel99
@aibel99 10 ай бұрын
@Snailryder @Snailryder that's talking about permisibility clearly. Not pride about polygamy per se. Nor does it mention conditions which you have to rely on hadith + scholarly advice on. Also you should probably care about what people more learned than you are on a specific topic say. We call them students of knowledge and scholars. So overall, you've failed to prove it's a sunnah and chosen to ignore ustad abdul rehman hassans veiw on it. Fair enough. I will maintain though that I actually do feel that ustad abdul rehman hassans veiw on this is correct. This is not a recommend sunnah and there are rules to it. Also, if you are honest, tell me if you came from a polygamous family? It's always the men that come from polygamous families that try to really endorse and spread this like it's more important than other parts of islam. Most men infact I see doing this don't even pray 5 times a day. Don't ignore this question.

Most men that engage or promote polygamy in this era do so for lustful reasons and this only. And the Quran both permits (note not promotes) and prohibits polygamy since it is basically impossible to treat 2 wives exactly the same. Also I highly doubt these brothers who promote polygamy would be willing to marry an unattractive widow with 5 kids for instance

If you are a Muslim in a good profession, don’t bother having social media since there is no true freedom of speech, so why bother engaging in a medium where you have to self-censor or face the wrath of islamophobes. Let’s be honest about the situation we’re in. I feel sorry for asif but also think he should never have gone onto apprentice as there is no remembrance of God on the show, and there is free mixing and your deen is hidden and sidelined. I would never have known asif munaf is a practising Muslim from watching the show. You are like the people you befriend and mix with. Not worth it.

Most of what the brother was saying was on point but there were many instances where he veered off into complete nonsense such as the Greek mythology references. Not all knowledge is beneficial nor recommended!
