5 rhythms dance profoundly helped me heal from multiple issues; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It's alignment

I heard today in my NIA class that the crazier a society gets the more complex the moves it seeks in Dance to balance release and heal
@pascaledelos75376 жыл бұрын
I would agree. I’d add that western societies don’t provide a space to balance society pressure against personal needs. Societies less ‘modern’, or still tribal, offer a lot more in that sense.

Hey, new to this genre of dance. Wondering what are the sources you guys read or watch to understand this movement?

Very beautiful and somewhat different then most 5Rhythm dance; love the use of, what I recognize as, contact improvisation.
@yogee00073 жыл бұрын
Yes - it's started as 5strp and towards the latest part it became contact improv

Why is everyone doing the same thing? This doesn’t look like any 5R class I’ve ever been to, it looks more like a contemporary dance improv sesh

Yes, because we are all crazy! Just some of us have managed to cope with the structures of one’s society, its rules, etc.. and some are struggling... for whatever reason.

Give it a try. Being judgmental hurts yourself and others, but ultimately you. Anybody who gives this a try will see benefits and understand. The more 'scientific', logical, and so on a person is, the less they understand the creative and spiritual side of the mind. Thus, you miss out and judge, thinking you are too smart for this when actually it might have really helped you, so who is the smart one? Not the one closing their mind.

Bear in mind that most of these people haven't changed their underwear in five months. And it's hot in there. And they're at it for five hours. It's not dancing: it's agar jelly on legs.
