Here I am again this time it’s 2023 I’m 63 years old now and still dancing or shall I say moving. As I’ve gotten older and my body has been breaking down as bodies do when you get older I find myself realizing how much more you need movement creative movement in your life. I’m grateful to what I learned because it serves as a map so I don’t just stand in one place wondering what I can do physically I do what I can doThis day with this body with this mood and I do something else the next day even if I have to stand on 1 foot even if I have to support myself and move or even if I sit down I am moving because that’s life

Here I am responding to this post 10 years later and still very grateful for everything I learned and more appreciative of the people that I saw dance and dance with. I can’t even imagine dancing with my parents man that must be some type of intimate experience glad she had dad

“To be swept away in the inspiration of it all, to be in the estatic, to be disappeared and to be just the dance. And we can see 5Rhythms as a vacuum to clean us out of everything that’s necessary to be a spirited breath in the moment.” Rest in peace Gabrielle Roth! So honoured to be teaching these maps. As I said to you. Love you forever and afterwards. You still rock my world. Neda x

When I trained to become a 5R teacher one of my fellow teachers to be was a man with severe handicaps. He danced with whatever parts that he could move .... i have seen many dancing a 5Rhythms wave on a chair due to injuries - in this practice there is room for everyone!

Peter always encouraged me with his dancing. He's such a big bear of a man and yet moves with fluidity,power and grace. As a large person myself, he became my mirror.

What you see happening at 11:01 (tremoring the legs) is very similar to that taught in the Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE), as developed by David Berceli. The tremoring mechanism in the body is very therapeutic for releasing the effects of past trauma.

Five rhythms is a wonderful practice I was fortunate enough to share space with Peter and his daughter the years that I attended class with Bernstein. Peter with a role model for me because we had the sameBuild and he was Socia on inhibited and free with his movement encourage me to loosen up myself

Rest in the stars, Gabrielle. You could've shown me how to find the body I no longer possess fully. With useless legs I know you would've helped me move and find the inner truths through your movement-based ideas. It's even possible I could've walked normally again, who's to know.....many miss you, many loved you. I never met you and therein lies a true regret. ♪
@listentouable5 жыл бұрын
The biggest regret would be for you to lose yourself....the only obstacle to you finding your inner truths is you. Please dance your dance, find your teachers, shine your light as only you can... You matter deeply in this magical web of life!

I dance with Gabrielle in three Manhattan workshops & Health map Expo & weekly classes. She & I were friends on My Space. She de-friended me without any communication about not being in my life. I have a feeling intuitively she is attached to her husband. He is possessive & won't even let Gabrielle have parties & invite individuals she works with.

i'd like to ask a question;that is, hopefully,devoid of judgement. is it hard to be a dancer, and an atheist, or, even agnostic,at one and the same time?
@bibofmahatti90007 жыл бұрын
brainsareus i would say it's hard to stay the same day in day out. maybe one moment you feel agnostic, another there is more atheism, then who knows, there is awe for something you do not have a label for. in all moments you can dance. or you are dancing in all moments anyway. so, yes all can go together with dance, as you, at any given moment, dance your inner world.
