I'm a voice student and this is one of my projects to memorize this while I was singing it the kid came at my studio and sang with me and his voice was so delightful to listen
@Sionnach16012 ай бұрын
I wouldn't advise you to use this particular boy's rendition. He is artistically off-beat way too much, making it all just seem like a mistake, like no one ever taught him to sing in time. Yes, it's nice to break rules-a bit-but doing it all the time just makes it look like you don't have a clue, which is the case with the handlers of this boy.

@@francescaviceconti3770hahaa… now see that’s funny because in this song Oliver is to control the tempo while the orchestra follows as a director who has done this show many time, I like how this particular boy sings it.

Nice arrangement/backing on the first half - might have laid on a few more legato strings on the last verse and refrain, just to jerk our tears out!! Pity the sound operator didn't get the reverb sorted till verse 2! Kid sings good - such a great song, so well done for picking the right little chappie to deliver this golden song.
@eldiran22 жыл бұрын
They also didn't do the second verse : 'Every night I...kneel and pray Let tomorrow.....be the day.' They simply repeated the first verse but used the pauses. Hmm...

Just to say I think that there is too much music drowning the lovely voice of this little boy
@Sionnach16012 ай бұрын
He's singing WAY too fast. He's beginning phrases too early off the beat, and finishing too early far more than is artistic. This makes him clash with the music. That's why it sounds like he is getting a bit drowned. It is his own fault and that of his handlers. He has a very nice tonal voice though, perfect accent and really looks the part.

@PJL70959 ай бұрын
Wow- you are absolutely correct! I’ve directed OLIVER! 14 times & after the 2nd production I always told the boy who plays Oliver that for this song HE controls the pace of the orchestra… not the other way around. Remember- Oliver is in a very meek position as he sings this. He’s been kicked out of the boys home, sold off to a funeral parlor by the Beadle & is now in its cellar wondering what’s next after being told ‘ya better like it cause it’s the only place you got’. So yes… Oliver is quite sad & rather pathetic at this stage & he’s surely not belting out ‘Where Is Love’ like he should be a member of the Westminster Boys Choir. Anyway, you are correct. Sing it slower and almost in a meek whispering voice… your sad damn it! Much success on your show

Music too loud.
@Sionnach16012 ай бұрын
It's because the boy was told to not stay in time, making him clash over and over with the orchestra. This is what makes it sound like he is being drowned by the orchestra. If he just stayed in time with them a bit more, he would sound supported, not drowned by them.
