People express amazement at how extraordinary Julie’s performance was despite her relative youth and MP being her first motion picture, but it’s easy to forget that by this point at age 28, she was already an old pro, having performed just about every type of musical stage act, from revues to vaudeville to pantomime to Broadway and the West End over the preceding 20 years. An extraordinary breadth of experience for someone that young and a well-honed sense of discipline and professionalism. The consummate performer and practically perfect casting in every way.

Mary Poppins was the first movie I saw at the theater. 1965, I was 5. It was so magical. The animatronic robin was wonderful. I'm 60 now and I've turned my very young grandson on to it. He doesn't enjoy as I did. But he didn't have the theater experience I had. A grand movie theater with frescoes and the outside ticket booth. It was the Drake Theater in Oil City Pa.

This song reminds me of My childhood, loved this movie from the first time I saw it in 1996, when I was 11.

I turned this on while I made my bed and cleaned up, and boy howdy it made a difference. Also, this movie had me whistling at birds with my two fingers out in front of me for forever.

If you listened to each of the songs from these early Disney films, you find life lessons in each of them--for example, here the song is about the tasks of getting to work and getting things done and feeling you accomplished something. In the song, Feed the Birds, the lesson is about caring and love and how simple, small acts of kindness make all the difference. Just beautiful! I listen to these songs when I need to remember how beautiful and precious life is.

Lot of people don't find the message in here: the point is do everything with passion. You clean the house? Put on some music and have a full concert lol

Great, and like everyone knows there has been countless versions of actresses playing and singing the well known songs, but there is only one true Mary Poppins. That right Julie Andrews. When you have quite finished!
