Perfect size trailer. All the tear drop benefits but you didn't have to build it. Great idea! I just found a great deal on a similar trailer however it's not the low top. I would like to do a similar design however for the kitchen I plan on having it slide out from the rear passenger side of the trailer about 36" high. It would leave enough foot room if we ever had to sleep with it closed however I can't imagine why we would. I will still build a very shallow enclosed area in the back that will hold dry goods as well as solar items. I had planned on a full solar however I may just use a jackery unit unfortunately I've already purchase 4 12v 35ah batteries and solar charger + few other items. The jackery seems more compact and versatile with more options but idk. Anyway sorry to ramble on on, your trailer video just got my mind running with ideas again. I am FAR from anything but some parts and dreams right now. These compact campers are all new to us now that our 4 children are grown, in the past we always had monster 28'+ i mean we had to but not so much now. I just hope we can fit our new furry 4 leg children in since they are so fat lol. I am thinking of the bunk like your but our little girl is to old to climb and out big big girl is 135lb so she can't get up and they like to sleep at the bottom of our bed so this has got me at a stand still any suggestions would be welcomed. Oh and remember our dogs run the house so not taking them not an option lol.

Hi! Thank you for watching! Well we hope you get your trailer built so you can start enjoying it! We love ours and yes we had a full size travel trailer when the boys were younger but now it’s just the two of us. We love having the option to camp off road and not worry about having enough room or clearance. Much more versatile. We have the Goal Zero and just recently bought a Jackery 500 to power our refrigerated cooler. ( another recent purchase) but we would never rule out solar in the future. We love taking our dogs with us and when they aren’t with us, the bunk bed makes for a great place to set things while we are sleeping. Keep us updated on your future project!

Oh and as for your furry friend, can she climb up some dog steps? You could have the bed, which isn’t too high and have some fold up steps for her to get up. ( or something similar)

Great 5x8. I really like that you keep it simple and include the whole family.

Feel for you with a puppy. We had two dogs in a run away. They are small dogs. One wanted in our face to sleep. Hahaha. Mainly me. We sectioned off the bottom where the mattress ended and kept putting her back in the spot. Used a cargo net and self stick hooks the next night and it worked. I guess she thought pack cuddle time. Thank goodness we had the cargo net for our pillows and blankets. Our bed goes into a sofa mold and if we camp for a few days use it but if traveling it stays in bed mold. Got the self stick hooks next day at gas station near camp site. She been fine accept she likes to lick you and nibble on you. Also lays on top of you and she sheds. Nothing like dog breath and a mouth full of hair. I'd try the cargo net may work for you. Just that was enough and she settled down.

Haha! Great idea! Yes when you bring dogs, all cleanliness goes out the window 🤣 Hair, dirt, slobber etc. but we love having them with us. Thank you for commenting and we hope to get back out soon!

Is that trailer large enough for a grizzly 700 ?
@StumblesandFumbles3 жыл бұрын
More than likely, but you couldn’t ride it in. The ceiling is too low

Do you treat the dogs with any insect repellent? Thanks.
@StumblesandFumbles3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Wow good question! We did not and I’m happy to say neither one got bit, or ticks for that matter, but it’s something we need to think about for the future. We do carry a first aid kit that’s specifically for dogs. Thank you 👍🏼

Beautiful spot and a very nice mess of fish. Just catching up on all your videos the last couple of months. I've been going through cancer treatment and now having more energy to just do simple tasks. Keep up the great work and look forward to upcoming adventures. From your fan from Ohio. So cool! We would love to do this with a trailer we just purchased! But, we are total newbies. (So here is a total newbie question- what are you screwing in to for your interior shelves, etc to give them stability?) Thanks for sharing!!
@rachelhbrown4 жыл бұрын
Do you have some sort of “stop” to keep your back door open? You mentioned you kept it open for airflow.
@StumblesandFumbles4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you so much! We were newbies, too! We had to figure it out as we went along lol...so for the interior shelving we used self-tapping screws and screwed them into the metal frame of the trailer. We also added sheets of plywood to the interior for extra durability. Some of the shelves are screwed into the plywood directly. Just have to make sure nothing too heavy goes in them. As for the backdoor we took a piece of pvc and some rebar and made our own stop. You can see it in the video titled Big Bear Trip #2. Thanks again for watching! 🤗 and let us know if you have any other questions

Love your set up. I’m thinking about a conversion like this. Are you able to stand up inside? What is the height?
@StumblesandFumbles4 жыл бұрын
Hi! We can’t remember the exact height but in our Q&A video we give the specific measurements. Fumbles is 5’6” and has to bend over a bit when inside. Unfortunately we can’t stand up inside. Thank you for watching 👍🏼🤗
