I see there is a ScanGauge E OBDII Automotive Computer OR a ScanGauge D Diesel Computer. I have a 6.0, should I buy the Diesel? Was you Scanguage II for diesel? I can't really afford this, so I have to get the RIGHT one. Thanks for any help on what you got and how it worked. (I have the problem discussed in this video...all of a sudden no start---cranks strong but wont turn over.) RIP Ron.

I don't know how to begin to thank you for all the info you have posted on here. I bought a scan gauge11. Programmed it and with in minutes found out why my 03 super duty 6.0 wouldn't start. FICM was at 25 volts. Got a new unit , installed and it started right up and runs like a champ. This is after I spent a $1000 to a mechanic who couldn't diagnose the problem. he was playing a guessing game changing out sensors. Again many many thanks

Diesel Tech Ron I purchased the Scan Gauge 2 and after watching your videos, I have my 6.0 up and running again. I had to replace the ICP and IPR, and its running great. Thanks for all your videos.

Thank you so much! My 03 6.0 wouldn't start. I got the scan gauge II my ficm, syc and ipr were all good but my icp read 0 while cranking. I pulled out the air filter and saw that the wiring harness was smashed against the corner of the engine block and was shorting out. I fixed the wires re-tapeded it up and all is good! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

THANK YOU!!! JUST HAD ONE COME IN AND FOUND THAT THE CRANKING PRESSURE IS LOW ABOUT 70PSI FOR THE ICP. TOOK THE IPR OUT AND FOUND PART OF IT'S SCREEN LODGED IN THE SOLENOID.

hey Ron i have an 03 6.0 powerstroke that i have had a no start with and ive ran into a dead end so i wanted to know what you thought . i did an oil change and broke the return tube inside the oil filter housing so i replaced it and added some diesel Kleen to the tank and at first it ran just fine but when you would shut it off it wouldnt start back up then less then a week of that i drove 60 mph across town just fine until i went to speed up to 70 and it quickly lost power and died going down the road and hasnt started since. i replaced the injection presure sensor and conector because a local machanic told me thats what was wrong with it and wanted to charge me almose 2000 to change it so i did it myself but the only thing it did was make my fuel gauge work again. i know i have fuel geting to the fuel filter ontop and oil is filling the filter housing but the gauge reads no presure no matter how long uou start it and it just keeps kranking it never turns over or even acts like its trying. the FICM voltage is 45 while everything is runing but as soon as the pump and everything else shuts off the voltage jumps up to 48

I wish you had some videos on how to fix NO SYNC. I had my ficm replaced and 3 days later I had same problem of long crank before start. I have a PO678 code and no ficm sync. I have 2 problems and not sure where to start first. From everything I have read so far they are not related , unless it is wiring ? IF I knew where your dealer was I would bring it in .

Hi their, you said when I park the truck and turn it off it won't start until the engine cools off? more then likely you have a high pressure oil leak. try to take off your ICP sensor and plum in a fitting that fits in to the ICP thread hole located on the passenger side valve cover its underneath the hot side turbo pipe, inject the shop air into the ICP hole and listen for air coming out of the oil filler neck and the crank case breather tube located on the driver side valve cover. Hey ron so i have an 05 6.0 powerstroke it was idleing and just shut down not it wont start were should i begin to try and solve this problem itll crank and its got fuel pressure but no fire i dont know were to begin

i have a 05 6.0 f350 this truck has set for about 6 to8 months went to start it and all it does is crank no start I replaced fic about 2 years ago, had the head gasket,egr and high oil psi pump replaced about 1 year ago on the fic but showing no power going to it was just wondering if it could go bad just setting there it ran fine when when I last drove it have any ideas

Hello, I noticed that my coolant level was very low. It is very cold in new jersery, so I added antifreeze. I did add some water in the past. so I go to start it this morning, it did start then it died and now I can't start it. it does crank but no start now. For now I will take it home and plug in the block heater, I will also replace the fuel filter. I have an 07 f250 6.0. and I do not have a scan tool. if you can tell me what else I show check I would greatly appreciate it. eventually I will get this scan tool

Is that fuel pump noise level about right for a good fuel pump? Reason im asking is I have one that is much quieter (06 f350 6.0). Its also a no start. I havent got to diag yet but i did notice the pump was much more quite when it died last night.

great videos using the scan gauge 2 for these fords. I just got mine in and set it up. I'm getting normal readings but the icp reads at 8 psi with the key on. Is this normal I see in your video you get 0 psi. At idle I get map 14.7 ebp 17.0 vgt 81 and icp 587

Have an 06 6.0 and everything I seem to checks is working just not starting. I've got sync my fmc is 48 and my icp is above 500 my ipr is at 38 changed oil filter and still no start it smokes white when cranks but nothing. Any suggestions can't really afford to haul to shop

Wife just had it running for 20mins to worm up then turned it off to finish getting ready . About half hour later went to go and no start . Just turns over really fast . Can here everything working . Fuel bowl is full . Augh !!!

I got a question out there for any Ford guy I have a 2004 Ford F-350 to 6-speed manual transmission sometimes it just sits hers and cranks and don't start but if you catch in gear it fires up every time and then you can shut the key off and turn it on I cranking the engine if I trade up again but it's just that first time it don't want to start does anybody have any answers for that thank you

My truck just left me stranded in the parking lot. Long crank/no start and I'm not hearing the injector chatter and the fuel pump only hums for 2-3 seconds before stopping. Where should I start? '06 6.0 f350

@@jonathanbravozya it was a while ago but I think I renege it being the IPR valve. The screen in them gets screwed up. It's an easy fix though

Great vids! need your help. my 6.0 just started missfiring today. wont go past 2600 rpm. wont start after warming up. icp v 2.1 @ 2600 rpm ipr 41% icp psi 1684. replaced ficm couple months ago voltage at 48 now. codes for cam, crank and egr. replaced fuel filters today, changed oil, no difference. drove threw some deep waters last time it ran good. ipr @ around 15% while crankin icp @ around 600. runs fine till hitting about 2600rmpm

Found the problem! after sitting a couple days it started cleared up so i took it to work yesterday and was raining. half way into town it started running bad again and smoke out the tail pipe.would not start after shutting it off. found two terminals from the ecm harness were corroded. they got wet everytime it rained and it would start running bad. hope this helps someone!

have a 2004 ford f550 i changed wgr delete gaskets injectors ficm long crank after it start if check engine light comes on will not start have to disconnect battery to reset computer or if truck is running allday when i park it will not start until it cool what can be problem

Hey Ron, my 04 6.0 has had some "stuttering" at speed, whenever not accelerating (not asking it to increase speed, rather maintaining speed causes this symptom). I watched your vid (great vid, by the way!) and realized that I no longer have the injector pre-clatter noise and the truck cranks but doesn't start. What should I suspect?

Hey Ron, I have an 06' f250 6.0 diesel. On friday check engine light came on, ran fine. Saturday, I started it up ran like crap and a bunch of black smoke out of exhaust. Sunday, do not hear fuel injector clatter and will not start. Any suggestions?

ron, I am at wits end.i have 05 f550 6.0. I have a crank and starts but immediately stalls.i replaced ipr,icp,checked ficm,pcm.i checked crank sensor on scope,and with another vehicle,i get 2 different scope readings..any ideas? would a harness cause this?

Does anyone know what he means by "Normally the battery takes out the FICM?" I had dead batteries last week. put new ones in and it was running, but now its a crank no start situation.

Battery failure has been a historical issue of causing FICM's to destroy themselves. Not always but, many times. You'll also find that in a short period down the road, you'll discover that your alternator is going bad. One is the cause of the other to fail.

can you explain to me why my 2004 6.0 wont rev past 2500rpm when warm. no hard start, plenty of power, great idle, but when it warms up it wont rev past 2500, still with plenty of power under 2500. if i shut it off and turn it back on its fine for about 15 to 30 seconds

hi don need your help.... our 2003 ford f350 6.0 was running fine and shut down on us... had it towed to the yard and been working on it we changed the sensors that are located behind the turbo and had the ficm repaired... but still no start and the readings are as followed at key on 14.8 IPR 47.5FMP 0SYC 27ICP at crank 84.7 IPR 47.5FMP 0SYC 308ICP

i just replaced 2 new batteries, 1 alternator, and 1 starter and still the dome light inside go out when i try and start it..what could it be ?

normal lol. vehicles are designed to cut power when trying to start, to give all the power to the starter...

dynocompe what about when i turn on the truck, weather is about 85° - 90° and i let it warm 15min up till it reaches above 100 in coolant temp and engine oil temp but then my truck shakes when i go 50mph i let go of the gas and it goes away. I step on it and it comes back, anything under 50mph is no problem handles well the tranny temps are at 100°-130°... once the transmission fluid temp reaches 150° or 165° the shaking goes away . drives nice . it stops twerking . not a completely bad shake but a mild one.

check ball joints, tie rods. google ford super duty speed wobble too, very common problem that can be a nightmare to fix. Fortunately my truck doesnt have this issue. a wheel alignment can fix it too if its out of wack or you had work done on the tie rods. If tires are worn unevenly, that is a sure sign that you need some front end work done, and the uneven wear alone can cause the shakes. with the tranny heating up and the shake goes away, i am not sure, i havent personally done much work on the drive trains to know the relevance, i am just a diy mechanic that has owned alot of trucks and done my own work. So i learn when i have to fix my own crap.
