If you are looking at the motor from the front the bottom right there is a ground that gets over looked a lot little 10mm bolt holds it on and it breaks out the harness a lot it will do just what you are saying

Check the ground behind the block, I’ve seen that ground get pinched plenty of times with a transmission or engine swap. I swapped my 07 classic silveraydo 4.8 with a 6.0 and it fired right up.

Very possible you might have a bad ignition switch. Might not be reading when key is on. I had a ss truck that did a very similar issue. Everything still worked, truck would spin over, the whole 9 but it wouldnt fire. I bought a brand new ignition switch, and truck fired right up. Just a thought

Nice video. The last thing I can think of is there’s gotta be a bad spot in the harness somewhere. That would be my last guess if you checked everything. Check to see if your getting power to your fuel pump and follow all the wires and check for power at every connection. It could be your ignition switch or a wire coming from it.

I’d scan and or relearn the bcm & ecm . And go over ALL MY GROUNDS AGAIn . I took my 06 COMPLETELY APART FOR A FRAME SWAP AMD RESTO AMD HAD TO CHASE GROUND ISSUES FOR A MONTH ! Run an extra strap from frame to cab and block to frame

Pretty sure there is a 24 and 32x reluctor wheel and it not being matched to what the computers suppose to read it won't run.

@@paulw3851 LS’s only came with either a 24 or 58 tooth reluctor wheel. GEN 3 engines all had 24 and GEN 4 had 58

You have to have a dealer program a new ecm for it to work. Does the motor have the correct reluctor wheel on the crank?

When I had a security issue, I still had spark and fuel pressure. It would fire for a brief second then shut down immediately. You may not have the correct procedure for resetting the security system because I didn’t have mine right the first time either. I’ll look to try and find it

Security Relearn Procedure: -Insert key, attempt to start the vehicle and leave the key in the ON position. In some vehicles, the Battery and Security light will blink for several seconds, and then shut off. Then the Security light will then remain ON. Leave the ignition ON until the Security light goes OFF. This will take more than 5 mins. -When the Security light goes OFF, turn the ignition to the OFF position. -Leave ignition OFF for 20 Seconds. -Attempt to start the vehicle again and leave the key in the ON position. -In some vehicles, the Battery and Security light will blink for several seconds, and then shut off. Then the Security light will then remain ON. Leave the ignition ON until the Security light goes OFF. This will take more than 5 mins. -Turn the ignition to the OFF position for 20 Seconds. -Attempt to start the vehicle again and leave the key in the ON position. -In some vehicles, the Battery and Security light will blink for several seconds, and then shut off. Then the Security light will then remain ON. Leave the ignition ON until the Security light goes OFF. This will take more than 5 mins. -Once this entire procedure has been completed (three times) your vehicle will start on the fourth attempt. Note: Some vehicles perform the relearn in a different sequence. You may notice your security light, battery light and abs light will alternate. Once the security light is left out of the sequence that is considered one step. Repeat the procedure two more times and on the fourth time your vehicle will start.

Unplug the radio.. the radio (after market or factory) some times have a short and will shut stuff down

Sounds like you got a bad wire somewhere if you have that much into it I’d trace every wire and ground to do with it and make sure it don’t have any bad spots in it cause there wiggy like that if they have the slightest little hiccup in the wiring

Sounds like a body control module. My truck done the same exact thing. What I done was pull out the bcm fuse and install a new fuse and she fired right up

One bad wire in the harness can cause this. I had a crushed wire to my crank sensor caused a no start. Go over the harness. Very easy to miss.

No spark no fuel no bang=1 thing. It’s in your ignition. Somewhere from the key chip to the ecm.

I had this problem on a ls swap, couldn’t even get into the obd2 port. Tore the harness out and re checked every pin and after being stumped on that for a week I ended up buying a holley terminator xmax, you may need a new harness off a parts truck.

Me and my buddy did a 5.3 swap on his truck, and it would not start for anything, the problem was that the motor had a DOD timing cover, if you did a DOD delete but didn’t change the timing cover, that could be your issue, he has a gen 4

I had the ground wire right in my plug for the fuel pump go bad ... not knowing I put a new pump in and wouldn’t run I sent it to a buddy and think he just tied a new ground into the plug but that doesn’t solve all your issues

Can you communicate with the pcm with a scan tool? Did you reflash the new computer? The list goes on if you can communicate with the pcm DATA is your friend

6.0 crank sensor reloctor wheel has different amount of teeth than the 5.3 it will never start your going to have to run 6.0 engine harness and ecu
