I know this is an older video but it is great. Just changed out a bad injector and saved about $400 in labor. Thanks for making it.

Thanks very much for sharing your expertise and videoing this procedure. I especially appreciate the up-close nature of it. That prevents all kinds of confusion for those of us taking on this project for the first time. Excellent!

It’s nice to see real world repairs. It seems the old warranty seat cover is a constant at most dealers for a kneeling pad, funny! Very interesting to see what the engine compartment looks like up north. A few others that post on youtube are out west and you can see how dry things are. Down south we see rust but not what I saw in your vid. I really enjoy your diesel vids please keep them coming. You do an excellent job providing tips of “what not to do” to stay out of trouble. Keep up the good work.

Yes that seat cover cushion feels so good compared to the radiator ridges digging into your knees for sure. Yeah we see plenty of rust up here but luckily most vehicles nowadays have such good anti corrosive plating on them especially the bolts that it's hardly ever an issue. I remember all the cars rotting away when I was a kid in the 80's now to see a car rotting away that is 20 years old or younger is rare even here in the rust belt states. Yeah I think the tips from experience and detail is what I am going for in my videos for sure I have seen too many bad quality videos out there.

Keep up the great videos. I haven't touched a diesel since way back when they didn't have computers running them and FICM was an insult thrown out by an Irishman at a bar. So I have a lot of catching up to do.

Great video! Lighting, focus, macro close, etc. Best one I have seen in a long time. One thing that would help is a 3rd party view. Everything looked like I could do this except not sure how to get my body that far back into the bowels if it. I have a #8 glow plug to replace and no clue how to get myself that far back. Tons of people say you have to lift the cab for injectors but you made it look easy.

I have never heard of lifting the cab for injectors they are easy on the 6.0l. #8 glow plug is easy on the driver side rear, just go through the wheel opening and if you need more room pull the wheel well liner then there is tons of room.

FordTechMakuloco You are awesome! I had a hard time thinking people lift the cab off routinely and you (obviously a guru) confirmed this. I will give the glow plug a try! Keep up the great videos.

MrRexQuando fyi to anyone with glow plug 8 engine code, I replaced my glow plug module ( used from eBay $35. ) and that fixed the check engine light.

I'm late to the party, but thank you for posting this. I have an 05 350 that just had the fuel pump assembly replaced... and because of a bad fuel pump I have blown a couple injectors. I'm thinking of just replacing all 8 myself instead of dolling out $3k for a shop to do it.

Excellent video! I definitely feel like I can do this myself now. I'd love to see a video on a 6.0l oil cooler. That's the other thing I need to replace.

When swaping the injectors, do you need to pull out the glow plugs and crank the motor over to prevent hydrolock? Watched a lot of videos of inject swaps, and I never see anything in regards to hydrolock being a cocern or steps to take prior to starting after injector work. I am in the process of swaping 2 on my drivers side early 2003 f 350. Thanks for sharing.👍👍

I was curious of this too.i know I've heard the 7.3 you have to pull the glow plugs to avoid this..

Thank you very much for this video and all the others you upload! It saves us ford owners lots of time and money. I know this is an old one, but I've being working on my early 03 ICP sensor, just changed it and after that, I got a code for low cylinder contribution on number 6. I'm just wondering if the ICP sensor is on the high pressure oil system and also needs to purge air to get back into normal operation conditions. Atm, the truck fires this soft code (P0278) when getting into operating temp, and it's followed by some vibration that is out of normal. i just want to discard the "easy stuff" before digging into the injectors or the wiring harness. Thank you very much again!.

Is it ok, to only do one side for now. Currently have a injector that has issues. No faults with the driver side.

Are Vans (E350) quite a bit harder then the trucks? Vans don't not have the ficm mounted to the valve cover which is a good thing

The vans with this engine are twice as hard.

It's the second one back from the front on the drivers side. Drivers side is even numbers, passenger side is odd numbers. so starting on the passenger side front, they are 1 3 5 7, drivers side front starts 2 4 6 8.

Tengo motor 6.0 dicel le cambie las ligas a los inyectores pero a un inyector le falta la maya redonda que lleva por a un lado del inyector me pueden ayudar diciéndome para que sirve esa malla, estaré muy agradecido esperó su respuesta

hey there, your videos are very helpful and straight forward . I am less than a novice when it comes to mechanical procedures. My extent of knowledge probably limits out at your basic oil change! LOL ( no seriously) I have a 2007 F-350 6 Liter I ve had some engine issues w the engine over the years. my battery cables had built up a lot of corrosion as of late so much that I was replacing one of my batteries the other day and the positive terminal cable simply fell apart. I ordered a new one but I soon found out that its not as easy as I was hoping it would be. Would you by chance have a video of such a job? or perhaps maybe send me a few pointers ? I'm having great difficulty getting to the starter and disconnecting the 2 wires. I sure would appreciate it > Thanks Steve

You are better off putting on new battery terminals but if you bought the whole cable they are a pain to change from the front ground stud to the back there are tons of wire retainers then it goes past the engine mount and gets fun. The two nuts on the starter should be the easiest thing to remove and are accessed from below. I believe a angled pry bar is best for popping the wire retainers as it passes by the engine mount. well hate to bother u again I got the wires off the cellanoid but apparently there is another bracket of som sort on top of this protection plate for the transfer case. Any idea what size that nut is? I cant see it and can just barely touch it! Oh I didn't mention I only have 1 arm Im working with , I had rotator cuff surgery not long ago and its useless. Sorry to keep bothering you I really appreciate your help Steve

Not sure where you are talking about the battery cables don't go back to the transfer case area. If there is any bolt or nuts to hold a harness they should be small in the 8 10 or maybe even 13mm category.

Do diesel engines take the same kind of motor oil as gasoline engines, or is there a specific kind of oil that's only for diesels?

Diesels take CI spec and Gas engines SI spec, the main difference is the additive package in each is optimized for each type of engines operating conditions.

Hope you got rid of that WIX/NAPA GOLD Oil filter, that's just asking to drain your wallet. WIX filter = New HPOP, HPOP screen, IPR valve replacement, multiple injector failures, and other failures.

Good to know. I ALWAYS thought wix was a great filter!? No? Not on these?. I've changed all the parts your talking about that these filters can ruin and I sure ain't taking a chance on that!!sheesh! Thanks for pointing out weaknesses

I believe over 200k and yes it has head studs so no head gasket issues but every other problem. He came in for a no start, had inj ckt codes, ebp codes and and egr codes too!

Nope just wait till you have a problem, most of the time the head gaskets last a long time unless they are tuned.

FordTechMakuloco what were the symptoms for the number 4 injector. Mine is saying bad cylinder number 4 and runs shaky at 40-55 miles a hour and I can tell it's missing while idling light vibrating.

​@@jesstres5004exactly same on mine. But it was cyl 2. I am replacing all 8 because the trucks has 218 k on it. Injector life is forecast to be between 200-300k. So kick em out while your in there and watch how good it'll run now!
