Just curious...do you have a favorite mid-length or funshape board on waist to chest high conditions? So many to choose from and I was wondering if you have a go to board you pick up more than most boards? Thanks for posting all these surf clips. Hope you keep surfing and posting!

Walden 7'2 Mega Magic is my go to for knee to chest high waves. Anything head high and up I will go with the Greedy Beaver or the 7'4 Takayama Scorpion.

@@surfboarddemos Thanks for the board info. I'm starting to experiment with longer boards and it's opened up a whole new surf style for me. I'll have to check out the Mega Magic. I recognize your surfing background. I surf in the same spots so hopefully I'll see you out in the line up one day.

Nice vid! What’s the difference between “volcanic repreve” and regular volcanic construction?
@surfboarddemos3 ай бұрын
Volcanic Repreve Lamination As the world's leading recycled fiber made from ocean-bound plastic bottles, Repreve is a sustainable innovation enabling Firewire to build strength and flex control into each Volcanic shape while simultaneously preventing plastic bottles from entering our ocean playground.

@@surfboarddemos Thank you. I meant from surfer’s point of view(look&feel, weight, flex, speed…etc) but thanks anyway.

Wondering if you could give me a comparison between the Greedy Beaver and the Sunday? To me, it looks like you can ride the GB from either the tail or from the center of the board and I'm wondering if you feel the Sunday has similar flexibility?
@surfboarddemos2 ай бұрын
That's just my style. I trim to make sections on longer boards opposed to gyrating, so I move my feet closer to the nose. The Beaver has more pivot because of the tail and fin selection. The Sunday is more faster down the line. Hope that helps.
@ChristianDarby-e8u2 ай бұрын
@@surfboarddemos Thanks a lot. Yeah, I prefer trimming on longer boards as well and wondered if the GB could do it well but you've shown it does. I appreciate your feedback - keep up the great content.

Do you feel that you could compete with longboards at 6’10? I’m looking for a mid length to take to a longboarder point break, but still want to be able to do a few turns.

I'd recommend the 7'2 Walden Mega Magic if you want to go toe to toe with lonboarders. Check my video demos of it. Thanks

I’m looking at buying a GB and wondering between a 6”8’ or 6”10’, I’m an average surfer, 90kg and 5”10’. Any chance you would be able to give me your thoughts on whether the 6”10’ would be duck dive-able and if there would be much loss performance wise going thr slightly larger board. Would you recommend either?
@surfboarddemosАй бұрын
We are about the same size so I would go with the 6"10. I have no problem duck diving it and it is plenty maneuverable. Good luck!
@gregoryhalls6626Ай бұрын
Thanks heaps. Also, how does it go in large waves (head high or bit bigger)? Is it best in knee to waist?
@surfboarddemosАй бұрын
@@gregoryhalls6626 Waist to head high is best for this board.

Hey thanks for vid mate I'm in the process of saving for a greedy beaver. Did you ever test the TT model also? If so did you notice any difference? Thanks

Haven't ridden a TT Greedy yet. Hopefully I'll get a chance soon.👍

Thanks for fast response. I'd be interested to see if there is any difference in performance. Also unsure whether to get 6'8" or 6'10". I'm about 85kg and 5'11" so pretty average size. I'm definitely intermediate as a surfer. No worries if you don't know how to answer that. Thanks in advance

@@MatthewBeames Based on your size and ability, I'd recommend the 6'10.

@@MatthewBeames Hi there, just chiming in. I have a TT GB 6'8" and I quite like it actually. I'm 83kg and have surfed all my life, but I'm just average unless I'm surfing all the time. That said, I also have a CI Mid Twin 6'11" that I feel is a little better, but begin poly, it may not last as long. The GB floats more as well.
@MatthewBeames4 ай бұрын
@@FoilWays thanks mate always good to get another opinion. I'm like you, average surfer for sure unless I'm surfing all the time. I just bought a 6'8 TT greedy beaver last week and so far love it! They didn't have any 6'10s in stock so I went for 6'8 . So far so good

When compared to the Sunday which one paddled the best and got into waves earlier?
@surfboarddemos6 ай бұрын
It's close but I'd say the Sunday, only because it is longer with more volume.

Hello, your thoughts on this board? Which is better this one or walden mega magic 7.2?
@surfboarddemos7 ай бұрын
Two completely different boards. The Walden has 12 more liters of volume than the Greedy Beaver. Waist high and up, I'll take this board. Waist high and below, the Walden.

@@Cif-ng3gs Just finished my 2nd session riding it as a twin and although it was more loose and skatey, I prefer it as a thruster.
@user-wj5if9hn9s5 ай бұрын
I've had two Greedy Beavers and I have always preferred them as thrusters. The tail is a tight pin the thruster allows for better rotation on wave face. All the volume up front gives it all the drive it needs. I rode mine as a quad a few times and felt that this setup choked of a lot of performance.
