+Hol Drem For whatever reason I can't reply directly to your comment so, hopefully you see this. The fastest flows were large streams that were up to 2 miles long on steep terrain. Don't know the speeds but, generally its not all that fast. The outer crust is always cooling and keeping the speeds down. Maybe 7-8 mph. 11-12 kph. Generally I avoid extremely dangerous situations. They aren't worth the risk. So, yes, there have been times I don't go any further knowing death is a real possibility. If there aren't at least two escape routes I don't go in that area. Good luck with the essay.....

Excellent video. What I liked the most was the use of natural background sound track. No endless narration and no loud overwhelming music.

That shot at 8:14 could be a photo blown up for framed art work! Really incredible! I can see that in a hotel or restaurant, or office building. Very nice.

Amazing work here. Yours AND mother earths. Stay safe, sound like you know what your doing. Scary to see that tent so close though. What if you fell asleep and the lava overtook you? Scary and ouchy too.
@lavapix6 жыл бұрын
Thank you...Yes, I do know what I'm doing and always put safety first :-) Found the tent out there in the trees. No sleeping. Just used it to shoot while it rained. It looked pretty old and was torn. Thanks for watching...

what happens with the Lava if it rains ?
@lavapix10 жыл бұрын
It was raining when I shot this. Rain has little effect other than slightly cooling the outer crust and causing steam. Huge areas of whiteouts can occur in heavy rains.

hear fan many, including me, see Pele in the hot lava and clouds. She is the Goddess of Kalahaua . Creepy story. It's on you tube and Google info. Natives know her and respect her, don't cross her, they say, she asks for a cigarette, etc. Give it to her and walk away they say. Bizarre!!!! I believe in Jesus!!!

Any methane explosions during your filming?
@lavapix10 жыл бұрын
Every outing had them when near the forest. All small near me but, huge ones at the flow front in the forest. Small one can be seen and heard in this video at the 28 secs mark. These types were very common and harmless. Large ones left 10 - 20' craters. 6 13 13 Lava Flow Hawaii Kilauea Volcano Lava Flow GoPro Hero 2
