Informative vid. I am not a fan of those hard line to 6an fittings. I use a 37 degree flare tool made by Parker. Great tool. They use hard line nut and sleeve. Cost 97 cents each at McMaster. I have my 6.2 on my run in stand and working on the fuel system for the stand. Have a large napa filter with 1/2 npt inlets and outlet. Have to change out the Russell non ptfe braided hose for diesel. Also have 5/8" inverted flare fitting to 6an on the lift pump outlet. I made one out of steel by using two fittings that were stripped on one side or each fitting. Made a good one, cut apart and tig welded together. Thanks for the fuel system vid.

I considered your flare method. I came back to a 6 or half dozen kind of thing. A compression fitting might leak but my experience is that is rare. A flare tool might mar or crack the line while doing the flare. But, again that is rare with the proper tools. I went compression fitting. The 5/8 inverted flare lift pump outlet to 6AN is what I would do if my intake manifold was off the engine or I was building up an engine. I didn’t know about PTFE hose when I built this engine so I used the factory pipe. Now I know for future builds. Thanks for watching.

Hey I have a question. What does the throttle position sensor control on the 6.2? I have an 82 6.2 and my throttle was really stiff so I took the sensor off and it’s a lot better. Everything still works so I’m not sure what it controls. I have a 700r4 transmission and I have the converter lockup on a switch. My guess would be that it’s supposed to control when the transmission should lockup.

Vacuum modulation for the TH 350 or TH400 transmission. I think you are good to go with your 700R4. Thank you for watching.
