Felt after watching that I needed to write a comment. I've been subscribed to your YT channel for a few years and although I often 'like' the videos, I rarely comment. There are many like myself, who appreciate your videos and that you're relatable, but you still need to make a living, so I'd ignore the trolls and if anything, ramping up the commercial aspects to enrage them even more 😂. Think I'd love reading the comments then. All the best to Jo and yourself for 2024

Go to Malta. It is a beautiful island with a lot to do and explore. I went there last year and it was the best holiday I have ever had. Highly recommend it.

My advice is to enjoy yourselves guys and live for the day. I eat well, climbed mountains, never smoked and drank very little. At 57 I got hit with pancreatic cancer and just about made it out the other side, enjoy what you like and live for the day.

Jo!!! HITS THE NAIL ON THE HEAD! 2024 is the year we care less about what other people think! I’ve had people throw a paddy and unsubscribe from my channel, I’ve had unwanted attention from slimy people in Facebook groups etc etc (I’ve checked the watched peaks in my videos and get more views as I’m getting into water in my cozzy and as I’m getting out 🤮wow that was an eye opener) and I’ve read messages that poo poo what I’m doing as a solo female wild camper. Of course I care about it because I’m human and sensitive as Paul says but I don’t care about what other people think. We have to try and be like that when we decide to put ourselves out there. I think you should absolutely give less of a s**t guys. You are awesome, you deserve all of the sponsors and self love and work if you so choose to accept it. Well done and please keep the podcasts going because I might even get my fella to appear on camera because of your two 😂😂😂 good job he will never see this comment 🤫 ATB, SoloSarah ❤

We'd love to see you in CO. You'll love the views and hiking... And we have a lot of breweries and distilleries. You don't need to go to Vail, Aspen or Telluride. If you do get here, we can do some Overlanding where we drive out to the wild and camp; this can also be your Basecamp.

Happy New Year to you both ❤. If it is practical/convenient I would suggest Jo that you could go to an indoor climbing centre and take a course or do some indoor bouldering. I found that really helped me overcome my fear of heights and gave me more confidence in the hills.

I used to be a poor swimmer because I couldn't stop water going up my nose. A nose clip fixed that and I'm a strong swimmer. I always thought it was something I wasn't doing but I've discovered that there's a multiple Olympic gold medalist that has the same problem. Multi day hikes can be released over multiple weeks. Do what you need to do, unless you keep your head in a good place you can't be your best for others. While Paul said he wasn't doing reviews, I'd be happy to hear informal reviews that he's using on lots of things, whether they are bought or given. I might be older, more experienced in lots of the outdoor activities but certainly not the knowledge of much of the new kit. Best of luck and a Happy New Year to you both and families. May 2024 be a better one.

Sooo very interesting to hear your comments regarding how long a wild camp actually takes. I love wild camping but i do feel that the one short night somehow takes 3 days of planning / packing / travelling / drying etc. I keep wishing that i was as efficient as the people that i see on youtube. Its reassuring to learn that its not just me 😀. cheers 👍

As everyone else says. Don't let those comments and views stop you doing things you want to do. You don't have to become a puppet for outdoor companies, and we know you won't anyway. I hate listening to the likes of yourself apologising and feeling the need to justify to us what you do or how you do it. Just do it how you want and need to do it. Disclaim if it helps but don't feel the need to justify what you do or how you do it. Watched you for years and love it as much as I did years ago. Loved watching your mental journey too and you talk about it. Keep up the good work. Jo too! 👍

Happy new year you two. interesting to hear about the stick you get but, it's the same for every single person who puts themselves out there. To be honest, treat it as a compliment. I know first hand how negative things hurts you. I hate it as all you want to do is be nice, honest, real and you are. You'll never win. Any opinions always have a reaction as everyone has their own. I've learnt to not bite, don't react, just be polite and crack on.

You were talking about karaoke. I don't sing but my wife learned about a worthless talent I have. We were driving to see family this week (we did Christmas the week after since that is when family could meet). We were listening to a Sirius/XM radio station called 80s on 8. I could name almost every song and artist and knew the words. I was in high school and college in the 80s. She was shocked. I can't list bands and songs if you ask, but play the music and I know. It is weird. Happy New Year.

I found out that I was a poor swimmer because I'm a sinker. I need to keep moving to stay on top of the water. Stop moving, I sink! I learned to flip over and swim on my back when I was tired or panicky. Once I learned that, I became more comfortable in the water... which is good because I do a lot of stream fishing and lake kayaking.

Great podcast guys. As Jo says it’s like sitting down with a couple of mates for a chat 😊 It must be difficult to deal with trolls and negative comments, I guess that’s one of the major downfalls of the platform but I reckon 99% of people here love your content and will continue to do so. Happy new year guys all the best for 2024 👍

I paused the video to delete the studio app. I've done that a few times now, I re install after a while and before you know it, it's consuming my life 😄 I've followed your channel for years now. In my opinion your best videos are the videos that you want to make and not the ones influenced by the dipshits of the world. I'm happy to say that those videos are few and far between. Happy New Year to yourself and Jo 🎉 If you are looking for a short break maybe visit Killarney in Co.Kerry Ireland. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. A perfect trip for the Van. Unfortunately the good weather is optional and never garaunteed, even in mid summer. Take her handy 🍀

Ok, so I’m watching this vlog, just doing my dishes, feeling good after a Covid Christmas and New Years, and now I’m nearly in tears. Jo, your words ‘I just want to do better’ hit me right in my guts. I always fail at news years resolutions so wanted to just have intentions for this year. The intention to do better, to be kinder to myself and look after myself better. But hearing you say it, woah, I don’t know why but it just hit hard. So thank you ☺️ And Paul, just so you don’t feel left out 😊 I hiked the Overland Track in Tasmania in March and your advice through your channel helped so much with that. So cheers Jo and Paul, Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Enjoyable podcast to listen to. Regarding the sponsored videos and product promotion, I'd much rather have a minute of sponsor promotion or a product review that is clearly stated as paid for than have several ad breaks in the course of a half hour video, where the ads are of no interest to me and not relevant to the video content.

Hi Jo, enjoyed this podcast, thank you both. Can you please tell Paul we love his YT videos, don’t care whether he promotes gear or not but personally I like him to review stuff as it is always of interest. If he hadn’t done a video or two on the Jetboil Minimo and it’s frying pan I would never have bought one and it is one of the best things I’ve ever bought for my bike packing forays. Thanks to his video on the little cookset that fits in a pocket I have a lovely little set I use to make a brew when I’m just out for a couple of hours and I use it all the time. I love his videos and really don’t care what he does, it’s always an enjoyable viewing experience. With regard to people who make nasty comments, it seems to be a modern disease and probably down to envy and the ability to hide behind anonymity, i.e. cowardice. I hope Paul can develop a tougher skin against such nonsense, laugh at it and carry on doing what he’s doing, because what he’s doing is just terrific! 🤗 Happy New Year to both of you and your family, thank you for all the hard work and look forward to more of you both this year 2024. 🥰🥳🎉

The difference I think guys is Celeberities we KNOW are getting paid for their work and your enthusiastic youtube stuff people don't see as work and think you shouldn't get paid for the effort. They need to hit the "ALL NOTIFICATIONS" otherwise they will only get what the tube wants to send them. Enjoy what you do and have the best future you can.

Just wanted to say that ‘trying harder’ isn’t the answer to greater fitness, weight loss or whatever, which is why so many people fail. Also, don’t even bother joining a gym (unless you happen to enjoy it), as you won’t lose weight as a result. If you realise you’re driving North from Sheffield when your destination is London, do you need to drive better? Of course not, you simply turn off at the next junction and head South. Continuing to gradually eat fewer carbs/more fats and proteins, combined with moderate exercise, walks etc., will have a dramatic effect and won’t be painful to achieve (I know, because I’ve done it). And for goodness’ sake, stop thinking about needing to ‘live on celery’ and similar nonsense!
