Realistically, he should've never been out the league. Talent was never an issue, and his game was never an issue. Suns weren't built to win at the time of his arrival, and it ended up hindering his trajectory to some degree. The cookie just crumbles this way sometimes, especially as an undersized Guard. It's not hard for a front office to convince themselves to invest in a younger player and/or a higher "ceiling" (which doesn't even truly have a specific meaning).

Used to love this dude's game -- put in a tough position winning SEC POY and DPOY as a soph, but not being ready for the league, so went too early. And he's only 5'8 . . . . Plus, he didn't do what he needed to do in PHX and his boy Book couldn't help keep him. Sad, but he had his chance and did well to get to where he did.

I think he would’ve figured out the shot without the injury, it even affected Isiah Thomas shot and by the time Isiah shot back to even 85% of what it was before the leauge passed him by.

@@isaacannanjr2371 Obviously I was speaking in general terms. Simmons is still in the league because no one wants to just cut a player with that much salary on the books!
