I bought a brand new 392 Hemi long block from Mopar without MDS that was built Feb 2021 and can confirm that it does in fact come with the BGE engine block painted orange and T356 aluminum alloy cylinder heads and the new revised "hellcat" lifters. It’s a shame that it still has the same hyper-eutectic pistons and tightly gapped piston rings which means the engine cannot be safely boosted past 6-7 PSI without pulling and replacing the pistons.

Let me help you out a little. The ram 392 has the same displacement as the car, but that's all. The car has a slightly bigger bore than stroke. The truck has whats called an underbore. The bore is larger than the stroke. The ram has completely forged internals and revs slower. The truck version is raited lower power than the gm, but will out pull it. The gm has a big bore and short stroke. All of your torque is made low with a long stroke motor. The cummins is built the same way the truck 392 is built. There are guys that use the truck 392 as a hotshot. They're pulling 15k+ all the time and getting over 400k miles out of them. The truck is built heavier than any other gas motor on the market. The truck also has an oil and transmission cooler. The drive shaft is way larger. If you want a truck to last a lifetime but gas powered, get the 2500 ram.

Definitely want to fix that cam spec slide. The specs might be accurate, but the 2 cams shown were measured using different measurement methods. The car cam appears to be total duration (measured at "zero"-ish lift) and the truck cam appears to be the standard @ .050" lift measurement method. As you can see, it gives VERY different numbers and it's really misleading. They're likely much closer together, the truck cam is probably 265-270 degrees of duration measured the same way as the car cam.

I have a 2011 SRT8, & I would have thought it would be a great motor for a truck, then I drove 2018 ambulances powered by one. /beavis “This sucks more than anything has ever sucked before.” /s 7 1/2 tons, it’s struggles at highway speed, can’t find a gear it likes, the cam shaft had to be replaced in one, another bus had to have the Donk completely replaced, not entirely sure what went tits up on that one. The truck hemi is a lousy terrible no good very bad motor if you’re doing anything more than using your lorry as a grocery getter and taxi.

They didn’t have the challenge mr till 2008 I was Chrysler full line certified back then I know for a fact because I got the dealership that I worked for there allocation by selling enoigh lx plate form cars by the dead line ever dealership got 2 per dodge point that’s why there is only 2800 of the original 2009 so it wasn’t 2006 there was the srt caliber in 2007 and there was a srt crossfire and ram and 300 and charger grand Cherokee that was the five there went no challenger back then and by then caliber was done as well as crossfire and the ram truck was gone

The ram 1500 never got that 6.4L hemi because it will get poor fuel economy & decrease the towing & payload capacity & people are not going to buy it. That's what the ram 2500 & 3500 trucks are for with the 6.4L hemi. The 5.7L hemi V8 has alot of power & torque in the ram 1500, no need for a 6.4L hemi V8.

Great point, while it would be fun, most truck owners don’t buy the engine just for ripping around
@NewtownVids3 жыл бұрын
@@MarspeedCars right people want reliability out their ram 1500. Also that 6.4L hemi was not in the dodge charger police pursuit cars.
