I was surprised when I finally chronographed my 20” Ruger American. 2810fps with factory loaded Barnes 127 LRX. I figured it was doing like 2600 lol.

@phild9813 lol yeah that's great. My last video in this series was on the LRX. my favorite hunting bullet

Chamber dementions and lock up affect velocities more so than barrel length along with a consistent barrel regarding machining.

I tend to agree within reason. 18 inches shouldn't beat 24, but yeah 20 vs 22...

Hi Chuck, I recently bought my first AR15, (not my first automatic though) I was so excited to shoot it I didn’t even think about “lubricating” the rifle before its first shots. I did put some drops of rem oil around the action and in nooks and cranny’s. People off of Reddit say my gun is destined to explode now? Did I really screw up that bad? In that case I guess I’ll stick to bolt actions.

Good, Thx. Thought that the longer barrel would be best for pure speed, also thought that the Kimber did very well for a 20 incher
@AlaskanBallistics5 ай бұрын
Agreed... it's amazing what the kimber does compared to the 18inch Aero Precision.

That Kimber sure is fast for a 20". I have the same barrel length X-bolt and I get 2620 fps. That load is super accurate, going to use it this Fall for deer.

I can't get Fed Fusion to shoot well in anything I have. Great bullet but it's useless if it doesn't shoot well. I now have three 6.5CMs. Going to have to even it up and convert one of my Tikka 30-06s to a 6.5-284 Norma so I have 3 each.

so looking at the 20,22 and 24 inch results Do you think it boils down to the kimber has better manufacturing tolerances than the other 2? or luck of the draw?
