In this video, Riflesmith Geoff Montgomery from Wyoming Gun Company will expertly guide you through selecting components, assembling, and fine-tuning your rifle in their state-of-the-art gunsmith workshop.
The Precision Rifle Series (PRS) demands exceptional long-range accuracy, making a custom precision rifle essential. The 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge is popular among PRS shooters for its outstanding long-range accuracy and low recoil. Learn how to build a precision rifle to gain an edge in PRS competitions with this video.
Geoff covers crucial components for your rifle, including the barrel, action, trigger, stock, and optics. He offers guidance on selecting components to suit your shooting style and preferences, such as barrel length and twist rate's impact on accuracy and bullet velocity.
With components chosen, Geoff demonstrates the assembly process, beginning with barrel installation. He then highlights the importance of correctly bedding the action into the stock to maximize accuracy by eliminating movement between the action and stock.
Throughout the video, Geoff shares valuable insights on optimizing your rifle for long-range accuracy and precision, including trigger adjustment and optics selection.

Good video, would like to see the results. Funny, no judgement, but I've never heard it called Vine Gar, I was going to blame it on Wyoming pronunciation, but I only live 120 miles from you. Ha ha.

Hahahah. Yup I was like what did I just hear? Yup Vine-gar... that is what it says... 😮😮😂 Still good step by step. I like to use studs not action screws. Its too easy ta get epoxy into bad places.

Thank you for sharing. Respectfully... I'd have liked to see the end mill operation. With "no parrarell surfaces bedded". I'm surprised you removed material and put bedding compound , arcaglass down the side of the action. Point bedding....front and back only is the theory I've heard.. No bedding in barrel channel was what I heard...but...can't see why bit of support to barrel is bad ..maybe barrel heats and expands.. Liked your recoil lug approach...with the clearance on front and sides. I wrapped the action screws in tape so there is clearance after tape removed. I'm not a professional at all...just interested. These comments meant to be possibly helpful. I'm looking forward to part 2😅!😊. I liked the idea of tang screw first and melting the bees wax. Looking forward to next video... Appreciate the effort. Thanks

Try making studs that screw into action first then place the action into stock. Put nuts washer on the other side to put a little tension on. Stops you pushing epoxy into action. Pushes it the other way out.

Yup was just writing that. I use studs much cleaner inside action.

You can use a high wattage soldering gun, heat the screw the heat will transverse up the screw shank and break down the lock tight so you can get it apart without damage.

After applying the epoxy and putting the action back in you put the action screws back in. They obviously had a little epoxy on them as you screwed them back in from the bottom and through the epoxy. I’m sure you put release agent on them and inside the holes, do they unscrew easy after letting the epoxy set up over night? Did you have to dig any epoxy out of the holes after taking them out? Thanks! Awesome video.

It has been a year now since this was bedded. It must be still curing or........it stuck and had to be thrown away.

How are you not filling the action screws with epoxy?
@davefulcomer2336
@davefulcomer2336 Жыл бұрын
They do often fill up. The release agent allows the epoxy to not stick to the threads. Often you have to drill it out, or actually "unthread" the epoxy.

@@davefulcomer2336 I use clay around the screw bores. It squeezes both in and out and keeps the epoxy from getting in. Cleaning up clay is much easier than cleaning cured epoxy and taking the chance of locking up.

I used taped blind screws...so action sits in with screws centred with right amount of tape and epoxy gets pushed down away .not up and in..

White vine-gar? Really? It's VINEGAR, as in oil and vinegar. The smarter you are about something, the dumber you get about basics.

So many things done wrong. People actually pay you for this? First, a MDT Chasis doesn’t need epoxy bedding. But, you did the milling with the chassis bedding block in the stock assembly, but then remove it to apply epoxy. Why wouldn’t you remove the aluminum bedding block first? You didn’t use bedding screws which keeps the material out of the action. Gezzz. You intentionally did not relieve the recoil lug surface which is the number 1 reason to bed any stock. You want 100% contact on the rear surface. Between this video and the on where you F^
