I made mine for 3 bucks. Easy as shit. Kept the boost in mine under 10 to protect the engine. Runs 2-3 psi in the highway

Best thing I ever did to mine was the Heath waste gate control. It's easy to adjust if you get a bit more intake and exhaust flow.

Oil Lease i think its great i tunned mine down to about 11-12psi max to make sure it was safe im installing a set of injectors as we speak so ill also make a video on it to keep everyone up to date

@@ModifyGarage I didn't mean turning one up is the thing to do. I just had a slightly better air intake filter-wise. Just trying to make it cleaner burning. Removed that muffler too.....and it didn't do zip performance wise. Turns out it was wishful thinking. Well, it had worked for NA engines I'd had. Live and learn. If I could do it again I'd make the air intake hole larger and try to flow the air better. I'MO, the air cleaner to the side getting cooler air was the better setup. I know for certain cooler air makes more power, the very reason I wouldn't have an underhood aftermarket intake. Hot underhood air lessens power. Getting air through a hood scoop is ideal. It would flow better into the intake also. I did like the idea of the more efficient wheel on the turbo intake. I like the engines because they're smooth and quiet and don't leak oil. I have yet to race one and won't. .I had a 160 degree thermostat and that’s a good thing in Texas. We do get crazy cold at times but Amsoil premium synthetic keeps everything flowing. I think there's a better water pump available now.

I like heath but pt wiring solutions makes a heavier duty boost master. Get the heath tune before you start pushing 16 psi into your truck. Been there done that. I got a 6.5 paper weight in my driveway from doing that

I'm in Tampa and having a difficult time finding anyone qualified to work on them. I can do everything but the computer tuning which I need, mostly just calibrate and delete security function. Do you know online resources?

I had a couple 6.5s they were good for the most part but i was running it in 2500s and i got a bigger trl so instead of 7k trl i am now 13k for trl wieght. I got a bigger trk a f350 7.3ps. Im running an edge tuner on it. My trk is a 4x4 cab n chassis dually with an 11ft flatbed right now best i get is 12.5 and with trl 8.3 ish but im 22k gross. I want new injectors on my 7.3ps but they aint cheap. I love the way the old deisels sound unlike the new ones you cant tell its a deisel. My 7.3 id say is a lot better in the cold. I cant plug mine in easily at all but no need it will start my 6.5 had to be plugged in about 15°f or wouldnt start

For every one with the 6.5 rig you need to go check out Kennedy diesel and get there boost controller it fools the computer and is tunable works really well on my 2000 6.5 with the computer controlled ip and mechanical waste gate actuator and im getting 14psi out of it with out tripping the computer

I've got a 94 K3500 dually crew cab 4x4 5 speed with a tac how rare is mine. And someone has put a 6.2 in it from what I can tell with 6.5 stuff and made a hybrid and the frame still has factory paint in places.

Nice video man, if you keep the truck around can you update on any problems you might have later like if you push out a head gasket with almost 2x the boost? That is the kind of stuff that has kept me from upgrades so far. My 98 is very reliable so far, 17k miles with nothing more than oil changes.

The fins are angled diffrently than the oem wheel for faster spool

Just a comment, the 6.2 really doesn't exist out there unless the truck is totally original. As early as 1997 most rebuilders sent a 6.5 out when a 6.2 came in, the engine shop simply installed and replaced all the pieces that came off the 6.2.. Not calling anyone wrong, just something to check. Esp. if you ordered 6.2 parts and they don't quite look right.

Remove that stock turbo and chuck it in the trash. Get an hx35 or hx40. Theres better turbos if you're willing to spend the money. And relocate the pmd before you do anything. It'll save you a lot of problems down the road

I have a 6.5 and I love mine. Yeah no Big Power house but Iam getting 16 mpg so I'm happy with that. My old Squarebody got 8 mpg. So I'm doubled it...HAHA...Thanks for sharing. Im on the fence with The HX35 or try that wicked wheel...

thomas bailey no problem at all thats what youtubes for my truck will be back from the shop soon ill have other videos coming about tunes on these trucks intake manifolds injectors and suspension stuff so if that’s anything your interested in hit that follow botton lol the wstegate us also easy to adjust to your liking ide recomend the gate alittle lower than i have in this video i had to fine tune it theought the corse of a week or so to get it down to about 10-12lbs holding still spikes to ab 14 but ide keep it alittle lower to avoid back pressure issues common with the 6.5, when u have an hx35 ik u can turn the boost up to about 20ish psi of boost safly bc the exhoust housing is much more loose but in a instent when u want to tow and keep it simple i think modified turbo is the best bet any question at all just message me ill always grt back to you guys the best i can

The turbo is fine until about 2500 rpm after thats it’s choking the engine causing insane back pressures and premature death. We call those turbos asthma attacks

Do you notice any more acceleration? How bout mileage? What can you muster? i've had my 83 C-30 dually 6.2, for 25 yrs, and just got a 93 2500, W/ a N/A 6.2. Was thinking about a turbo for 1 of them. Both 6.2s get 20 mpgs. (1 W/4.10s, (no OD), and the other W/ 3,73 OD) How bout a 6.5 turbo?

@@ModifyGarage The vaccum waste gate control was notorious for screwing up. Use that Heath control and do away with the vaccum . Just get a belt to fit a 92-93, throw that pump as far as you can. If you have PMD problems and have access to a mechanical pump, change to that and forget it.
