At this age it's all about potential. NOBODY can predict if this kid will make it to the league. All they can do is look at his potential and how he compares to his peers. I don't know of any other 7th grader doing what he can do, at his height. Fundamentals are really good....and again, just think about, a year ago this kid was in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!!!! But to make any predictions this early is stupid. Many great basketball minds made predictions about phenoms much older than him and got it wrong....just look at Shea Cotton, DeJuan Wagner, Lenny Cooke, etc. Cooke and Cotton where probably more advanced than Lebron James in high school....neither 1 touched an NBA court. But this kid is special....if you know hoops, you know why. Hope he reaches his potential.

I met Emoni at a basketball tournament in Maryland this past 2016 summer. I just happened to stop him because he was so tall and I could tell that he was very young. I just started talking to him and he took the time to listed to me and answer the questions I was asking him. I had no idea he was on this level because he was so humble. Listening to this video, one thing Emoni said keeps ringing in my ears, "I love my father. I just love him so much." This is the kind of relationship more Black men need to have with their sons. It doesn't matter whether they play basketball, chess, baseball, swim, or are just smart little kids; it doesn't matter if they aren't the smartest kid in the world, they need the love of their parents. You just never know how far your kid can go with your love and support.

blah blah emoni only has height on him thats point blank
@obie2hot4you8 жыл бұрын
But that's the key notion you have to take from him. Think about what scouts look for and how many people under 6'0" actually make it to the NBA. We're not taking anything away from Amari but height plays a roll with scouts because they tend to overlook smaller talent. 7th grade, handle, shooting ability, it's a video game character, a coach's dream.

+Jayy2k that's what the nba looks for especially because he has more room to grow he's only in the seventh grade at 6ft5 he isn't finish growing

Obediah Poteat Steph Curry, Dame Lillard, Allen Iverson, Isaiah Thomas (Celtics and Pistons) were all "short" for basketball standards and all have dominated. Especially the way the game is officiated now. Height and strength isn't the end all be all anymore...

Yh he is showing all the skills that is needed to be a beast in the game... Handles, foot speed control coordination and a great shot. I know he is still developing and growing but take some advice from a guy who was skinny and had a great shot. He need to be starting to do those pushups and drink some protein shakes with spinach and eat more vegetables to put on a little more mass. Not too much or else he would have to train harder to maintain the same quickness.

Its great to see a young guy that is focusing on developing unqiue ball skills instead of trying to be a freak of nature at a young age.....
