i found expanding them 2 times opens the necks just a tad more even

I chuck cases straight in the drill chuck, it eliminates ay wobble and no, you will not damage your cases ...just go gently

My 2 cents is turn after expanded, otherwise you'll get the thicker shoulder material at the neck shoulder junction and will get donuts. Whether you turn before or after fire formed one can debate for eternity. I prefer to turn after fire formed so brass has flowed

Neck them up to 7 then neck turn because when you neck up part of the shoulder becomes the neck.

How the hell can you fire form before you turn? Bruce What neck dia are you running in that PRC. Can you chamber a loaded round that has not been turned?

Anneal- 6.5mm expand- do one cut 1 thou...pending on thickness. Cut a tad into shoulder. , anneal again expand to 7mm and cut again,.

Do you anneal after all that or just fire form? I prefer to anneal before fire forming if I have worked the brass in several steps.

I anneal after fireforming, it comes new already annealed

@@bruceteel7just curious. I have found necking up in several steps hardens the neck quite a bit. This is good brass and not a drastic neck up so probably doesn’t matter. When I was at SSK we did some pretty wild wildcats and I would see micro cracks on the necks under the microscope if I didn’t anneal when necking up in several steps.

What insert are you using in rockchucker press that allowa 1/4 turn to lock dies in press.?
@michaelangelino3189 Жыл бұрын
It’s the Hornady lock and load. I use them in my Rock Chucker as well. So much better than trying to screw them in each time.

I use whidden click adjustable dies ,so not sure if that would be worth it.

@johnmiller5883 I have Whidden dies too. They work fine with the hornady lock n load system
