This video should be required to watch when purchasing a powerstroke! Great quality! Make ones about the regen processes like this and they need required too. There's always posts on the forums confused about regen...

@poweratroke tech talk w/Arod has a great Regen video. I made this video due to the amount of people bring their trucks into the dealership for a normal operation of the truck. I would have loved to have more examples of the thumping noise but that's all I had when I made the video. This always starts lasted October/November up in Alaska and Canada then works its it was south the further we get into winter. Then goes away all summer. Then comes back again. Just like DEF DTC's/Exhaust system Fault messages that go away after the vehicle has sat inside for a day.

Thank you Cody, glad there’s no worries with the chugging.

Just trying to save people from making a trip to the dealership for something that's normal. I see it every year. It starts in Canada then moves south. 😂

That’s awesome thank you buddy.

Great video they should issue this to all new powerstroke owners. Coming from a Cummings this thing makes all sorts of weird noises I'm not a custom to 😂

Thanks much Cody for the vid reassuring us cold states folk that all is normal! Also appreciated info on block heater time to max temp…that will save on the juice bill. I dope the fuel beginning around mid Oct and don’t let up till spring time..give it ample time to work through the 60 gal tank and entire fuel system and stay primed with treatment.. Overkill? Maybe. But definitely beats sitting on the shoulder due to gel up in subzero with no way to stay warm! Fresh fuel filters just before winter is a must as well for me.

Yup save the power. Have the timer start 3 hours before you wanna go somewhere. That's about when I started putting anti gel in the VW.

Remember our talk out at carter that day about me getting a diesel truck . Well . It happened….. my poor impulse control won ….. lmao . Need to get with you one of these days about getting some work done to it and what you would recommend for it .

🤣🤣🤣 that happens. Hopefully it wasn't a 6.4 😂

@@CPsGarage oh lord no . Even if you get a 6.4 for free it’s still to much money lol . I got a 05 5.9 24v with manual transfer case .

6.7's don't have the easiest time lighting or keeping the catalyst lit (they actually dump massive amounts of fuel during initial startup to light the converter) and the chugging (like stated in the video) is various methods the ECM is using to try and keep the exhaust temperature high enough to keep the catalyst doing its thing, and maintain required EPA emissions targets.

Dumping the extra fuel saves the planet -as well!!!😅
