I have a 2014 c-max (yes, its amazing but not a truck). I get a check engine light every once in a while, but when i use the free scanner from oreilley it doesnt pull any codes. It seems like forscan does a whole lot, but do you think it will pull any codes that arent visible to a standard odb scanner? Thanks, great video by the way.

Around the time I bought my 21 new,the chatter was that doing this through forscan didn’t work or wasn’t a good idea for whatever reason. I can’t remember exactly why or what. Was this recently added into forscan maybe? Anyway….because of that, I bought one of the little disable “gadgets” that plug into the back of the switch and it has worked well. But I like how with it disabled the light on the switch doesn’t come on at all….so maybe I’ll plug in my PC and do this and sell the little “gadget” to somebody else to use!

Start stop actually decreases wear on the engine. Oil testing showed it. I get it it's annoying sometimes. And I've had people have me turn it off with forscan. I keep mine on. No fuel dilution from idling at lights. Less engine wear. I don't ways use it especially when super hot. But then again it won't shut off when super hot out cause max ac is on

This filter install is almost like installing a new roll of toilet paper on the spool.

Since mine is a Range Rover I put it in the top housing and make sure it snaps in. As you said, too much room for error the other way around. I did not even know they said to do it that way, but figured since the filter comes out with the housing then you should put the new one back in the housing.

with the VW and Audis that run Mann Diesel oil filters, i always put it in the cup because it too has a drain back leg that sticks out the bottom and is screwed in from there.

I put mine in the motor then screw on the cup

3.0L PS……first few changes I put it into the filter cup because on all similar systems I changed in the past (MINI, bmw, etc) that’s the way it was done. But then I saw that ford recommended the filter placed on the engine side….so started doing that ever since. I honestly don’t think it makes too much difference. If the rubber nub is going to come off, it could probably happen just as easily with either method. The real issue is that there’s a little rubber nub there to begin with….fragile design. When changing filters on my old MINI coopers, the filter had a plastic ring on one end that mated up to the drain back valve which was a spring loaded plastic “button”. Between the plastic end of the filter and that button, there was far less rubbing and tension and this wasn’t an issue so much.

Same code. Same issue but mine will reset and thefans will run until i turn the escape off again. Is it possible that i have a bad relay? I just hate to spend $500 and it be a badrelay

Hey buddy! Great video. I have a 2007 Mercury Mariner Hybrid, 110k miles. I'd like to know how scan the hybrid battery's capacity. I'm concerned my Mariner may suddenly give out on me. Do you have a video on this? If not, I bet many others like myself would sure love to see Ford/Mercury hybrid battery scan video. Many folks like me do not know how to read the findings on Forscan. For example I heard that anything over .2 is no bueno. Why?

Thanks for the clear information on setting this program up. If you understand the basic functions of the program and the sequence of their operation, you should be good. You do a good job of explaining there. I have a question, a dumb neurotic one at that .... since Forscan is developed in Russia, has anyone taken the time to research the program for ' backdoor' access to your personal data once you download this program? In essence, giving someone on the other side of the program we download access to your computer and all it's personal info? I've used a Russian based antivirus software in years past, (Kaspersky) but have since stopped because if I didn't renew this antivirus, my computer was held 'hostage' by not allowing me to access my own computer without my administrator password, which never existed. The experts who fixed my computer told me that's what probably happened. Quite common, so they told me. Cost me $120 to get my pc back up and running. Have you heard of any problems with subscribers to Forscan having issues like this if they don't re-up their subscription on a yearly basis, or having the possibility of developers installing an access to your info? Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the video. I've been using Torque Pro for years with my car and needed to use it to troubleshoot a no-start issue on my 2001 E350 7.3. Used your video to add PIDs and found HPOP is 289. Problem identified!
