Lot of good tips ARod! Don't forget: check the pedal wear, lots of wear means lots of stop and go (same with seat bolsters, hopping in and out will show a LOT more wear). I'd rather buy a high mileage freeway runner truck. I like to pull door rubbers and look for over spray, good way to tell if there was an accident that wasn't maybe reported to insurance. Bring a magnet with you, for steel bodied trucks to see if there was any Bondo jobs. I also like to see a truck start when it's dead cold, a cold start tells a lot. A big thing today is to make sure all the electric junk works. A buddy of mine bought a 2018 Explorer a while back and it had the front seat massagers, he didn't check that until MONTHS later and only the passenger one works, the driver side was used ALL the time and wore out. Some great tips! This is what I love about the interWeBZ!

Another thing to add is always look under the bed liner! I bought a 2011 with a new bed liner and the previous guy screwed plywood into the bed! Like 16 screw holes in my bed. Yet another very excellent video tutorial of yours sir. I especially like where you touched upon the interior smell. That's just one of my many pet peeves of getting into customers' vehicles, is when they smell like "dog". Next up is when they reek of pot so strong you could get high, just getting in it to bring into your bay. I too, echo your sentiments about how the overall interior appearance of a vehicle speaks volumes about the owner's character. You also brought up a very good point on the cost of a brake job on these trucks, which reminds me that I might need to have a closer look at my rear brakes and possibly address if needed, since I'm about to unload my 2016 with 74K miles on it very shortly within the next month or so. I know I just did my front brakes within the last oil change I did, about 3K miles ago, as well as my summer tires. Good tip on the fuel filler door hook. I never knew that! Which also reminds me, I need to fuel up. I think I'm going to use that hook for the first time.

Your video was very helpful. I looked at a 6.7 earlier this year. Everything was going well until I opened the hood. Batteries horribly corroded, air filter minder was fully maxed out, oil was black as could be and was so thick that it wouldn’t even drip off the stick. All the maintenance stickers in the corner of the windshield were very out of date. Decided to walk away and find one that’s better taken care of. I’m guessing whoever had it traded it in because they couldn’t really afford to keep it with the higher fuel prices. Letting the maintenance go is a bad idea though.

I bought a used 2017 F-250 King Ranch almost two months ago. I wish I had seen this video then. However, the interior looks brand new, the engine bay is so clean you'd swear it was used in space or something, and it doesn't leak anything. On top of that, the original owner replaced the murder-damper (death-wobble) with dual dampers and some upgraded stuff which impressed my Ford mechanic at my dealer. It has a few tiny scratches but beyond that, I feel as though I stole the thing. After 3,000mi, at 120k, I took it to my dealer (bought at a Mitsubishi dealer) and had every fluid changed, every filter changed, tires rotated, everything. The master tech at the dealer said whoever had the truck took care of it. I was stressed about it before that. I drive it daily now, and tow weekly. It'll be with me until it explodes or something. Shooting for 1mil miles.

@@buddyrevell511 I talked him down to $55,000. Had 117k miles on it. It has been solid until this past week. I started getting P0170. It is for the Bosch fuel system. Ford has no fix, mainly because so many different things can trigger this code, even falsely. Clogged intake (dirty filter), failing injector, bad MAF sensor, bad CAC temp sensor, bad MAP sensor, anything can trigger it. One guy just resets the code every thousand miles and drives on because the truck performs well with no side-effects. Still love the truck and I ignore what I consider to be a false code until Ford figures it out.

Funny enough I'm a l.e.o. a farmer and ffl. My trucks trade near retail and I get great discounts but maintenance is on the spot. As far as fido my Dobie rode with me to a lot. I also look on these for Motorcraft filters. I also do 30k a year highway miles. That truck got splashed but not abused. Plus kept up to date on fluids.

A dropbox or google sheet with a checklist would be cool. Could print it out and just go through the list and check everything off as you inspect, maybe a Notes next to each item encase extra details want to be written down.

I just got a 2011 f250 6.7 KR. Love your videos. It has a patriot tuner, and runs great. With a 4 inch dp back, export market egr factory parts bypass and a ccv bypass. Just put in a new map and MAF. And the thing keeps popping up a P2074 code. I’m losing my mind trying to get rid of it. Any advice? Just cleaned the intake manifold also.

Hi there, just wanted to ask if a 2015 F350 has a crank case filter. I have the 6.7 in my truck. I see the black box looks like it has a filter. But my truck does not have bolt around to indicate it has a removable filter like I seen on some videos. Maybe I have to replace the whole unit and filter inside. I appreciate if you can let me know. Thank you Daniel

Hey, I have a 2016 KR dually, I bought it at 106k three years ago. Had to work out a few bugs but think I have worked most things out. It has 166k now and counting. I do have one more minor issue I would like to figure out. Both driver and passenger heated and cooled seats are not working. They were working previously. Now I miss that feature. My KR did not have the rear heated seat option. Tried looking under the hood at the impossible to get to fuse box, looked at number 80 something fuse. I think it was good but left the cover off for a couple of days to return with a multi meter but an upcoming rainstorm made me go though the huge struggle of getting the fuse cover back on. Where should I troubleshoot to find the issue? Do you know what fuses to look for? I only found one location so far in the owners manual of a possible fuse location. Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Wish I would’ve saw this last year! I bought a 17 F250, about 167k miles, everything seemed to be good! A year later trans went out. I changed the break immediately and the battery, pretty penny too! Now I’m having these weird electrical issues, same time resonator is hanging! I love this truck though, not sure what else is going to happen
