Never thought I'd say a $7million boat looked like it was "value for money".
@johndeneau76673 жыл бұрын
I work at a pretty high end boat dealership, and it blows my mind how much money people will spend on the 40-70 ft boats we have. But you're right compared to the 3 mil give or take people will spend on those boats this is much more worth the money.
@sadenuttie22343 жыл бұрын
@@johndeneau7667 difference is you cannot manage a boat like this yourself I guess, and fuel and slip costs will drastically increase, so getting a slightly smaller boat is more worth it which is why boats in this size range have to decrease their price a bit to reach their market and compete
@richardcontinijr96613 жыл бұрын
Well when you use slave labor you can charge less than your competition. These boats are built using immigrant labor and it's common practice in large parts of the middle east to exploit them. I don't know if this company operates the same way but the price does suggest that something is fishy. A comparable boat built elsewhere would be about 30-50% more.
@norarivkis25133 жыл бұрын
@@richardcontinijr9661 Not all comparable boats built elsewhere cost more; depends on where they're made. But you're right that labor costs are a big piece of the price. It doesn't have to be slave labor per se, just different wage rates in different countries. Europe has among the highest labor costs in the world -- partly because Europe protects its workers pretty well compared to most of the world, partly just because the cost of living is higher there, and so wages are proportional. Boats made in Italy or the Netherlands are going to be more expensive than those made in Turkey or Brazil. The best protection against exploited labor in a product like this is simply that they use incredibly highly skilled craftsmen. These aren't easily-exploitable minimum wage workers; they're in high demand all over the world, and if they don't like the way one shipyard (or even one country) treats them, they will get a warm welcome in many other places. None of that means anything in favor of the way many of the middle eastern countries treat their immigrant workers. You're correct about the routine use of slave labor there; it's just usually lower status and lower skill workers, because they're more easily exploited. But the superyacht industry is very much the high end of the spectrum, and it does help. A commercial shipyard might do things that a superyacht builder can't afford to do if it wants to get the kind of staff to compete with the Italian and Dutch builders.

I love how the saloon doesn't cram storage and stuff in there. Makes a really nice area. The bridge and sky lounge are my favorite areas. Being retired navy, I have a soft spot for crew, and their areas. These are nice, just wish they'd try harder to provide separate showers and not wet heads. Of course, if that's all they have to gripe about they have it pretty good. Thanks, Nick, for another wonderful tour. Now how about your home?

It’s great to be seeing more tours of larger yachts on your channel again Nick. It’s always somehow more enjoyable to watch these longer tours that we can really get our teeth into. Having said that, although your content obviously had to adjust in reaction to the pandemic and the effect that it had on the industry and travel in general, I’m really impressed at the content you were able to put out during that time, considering how little was going on and how hard it was to go anywhere Many channels hit that wall and just gave up but I feel like your channel thrived and found a whole new audience and really grew during that time.

Gulf Craft has obviously discovered the elusive elastic GRP. Looking like any other 80 to 100 foot yacht, dockside - the surprise comes when you get on board and see how HUGE it is inside - elastic GRP. Seriously, I thought it was an optical illusion or a GoPro lens or some iMovie "make it bigger inside the yacht" filter. Very clever use of space, colors, textures and arrangements. BTW - its also beautiful. Thanks Nick and Gulf Craft for sharing such an artful, engineering wonder.

Can I just say , that after having seen dozens of your walkthroughs and tours that I find this one absolutely faultless. Fantastic use of space, light and airy, beautiful finishes throughout and very thoughtful consideration for all on-board (crew included - not just owner/guests). That sky-lounge is stunning and something I think more designers and manufacturers should incorporate. It's certainly not cheap, but as someone else mentioned - it seems pretty good 'value for money' too! Don't think I'll ever be able to afford something like this in my lifetime, but thank you for bringing it do us all the same. Always a joy watching your videos. @@visionist7 Yeah, I don't know why the bathroom has been given second rate status when it comes to living space. Very rare to find large windows in the head, but we spend a lot of time there, and it seems logical to have at least a regular window.
