I chose not to add sleeves, as they are pretty much readily available everywhere at a ton of different prices. And everyone seems to be good on sleeves for the most part.

I like that your list contained more unique items that are cheap rather than the really basic ones. My 2 favorites, and the ones I always carry are the infinitokens and the digital life pad. If there's anything that's outside of the basics that I've gotten more than my money's worth, it's those 2. You can even buy a card shaped eraser from them that fits in a card sleeve so it's easier to fit into your setup

Yeah, that was part of the recommendation requirements too. Things that you can use a lot or at least get your money's worth from.

Why use the digital life pad instead of just using a whiteboard?
@plumokin5535Ай бұрын
@@connorthornberg whiteboards smudge and life pads also have locks to prevent them from being erased by the button. You don't have to take the time to erase anything as it can all be done in one click, and the battery only gets used when you clear the screen. Sometimes you don't want to erase everything though, but in that case paper/pen is easier than a whiteboard

Camera backpacks are the best hack/pro move. I used one of mine to move my commander decks, and it was perfect
@PowrDragn Жыл бұрын
Definitely a good choice if you just want a cheap solution to carry around 4-6 decks and a few accessories.

Good one off video PD! Playmats are always something good to have too. I think these get overlooked regularly but you never know what is going to be there to play on at various events. I was just at QuakeCon a few days ago and didn't bring mine and we wound up playing on a table cover that the cards' corners kept getting caught on constantly. Playmats get taken for granted a lot but I miss them when I don't have one.

I didn't include sleeves and playmats, because they are pretty much everywhere and mostly fall within a set dollar value. There's also not a ton of variance between them except for color/art. There's also not really a high end version most new people will need to dodge.

Here's another tip: take a deck or two with you to a Home Depot, Lowes, or any store that sells tool boxes with multiple square or rectangular compartments. There's a good chance that one of them might possibly fit your decks, and typically toolboxes are pretty rugged, so they offer decent protection to prevent your cards from being crushed or banged around. Just something to consider.

Thank you for this. I have seen the infini tokens in use before but I have never thought of picking them up (I allways figured they were very expensive).
@PowrDragn Жыл бұрын
You're welcome. And yeah, they aren't expensive at all. :)

Thanks for the shout out, on the token! Lol!

You can also use infinitokens to track +1/1 counters instead of dice. Just slide the infinitoken under the card and write the updated health and toughness on the infinitoken

The camera backpack is a really good idea, i've been playing for more than a few years and i hadn't come across that one. Also using cards from other games as tokens, so long as they make sense, can be fun. I've had some eye rolls using celtic guardian as a soldier token but so long as everyone knows what it's supposed to be and i already own it, it's fine for commander.
@PowrDragn Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the cheap camera backpacks are a reasonable option. They hold up ok too as long as they aren't heavily abused.

I bought a cheap $3 fishing tacklebox at Walmart that has movable dividers, and i use it for keeping me dice organized by category as well as keeping my florist beads that i use for counters in it. I recommend it. It is $3 well spent for mtg
