In our province, in Bohol, puto maya and sikwati is a popular combo that we usually take for breakfast or snacks. Puto maya is a type of kakanin or rice cake that is common in Central Visayas. And it is usually paired with a chocolate beverage called sikwati. Sikwati is made from tableya which is the raw chocolate that was traditionally processed from the cacao beans. Sikwati is different from the usual hot chocolate beverage because you will notice that its oily due to the cocoa butter. Usually, the cocoa butter is being extracted in a commercially available choco beverage but with sikwati or tableya it's not. Which is why the taste is also different and it is much stronger compared to the commercial beverage. You have to try this combo when you go to Cebu. Trust me. You will love it 😃

For example, " Sa States, yong tarbaho ng mga vloggers binabaleng wala ng mga tao... Pero sa Filpinas, gustong gustong ng mga tao " ( In the States (USA) , people look down on the work that vloggers do, but in the Philippines, people love it .)

Hi Kurt, here are my help translations: I don't want to FORCE her = Ayokong PILITIN sya. (Pwersa is like forcing yourself) Look down on = Mababa ang tingin. Egg yolk = Pula ng itlog (while it actually is dilaw). High blood pressure = Mataas ang presyon ng dugo (but just 'high blood' is used in Tagalog). Pronunciation on Pilipinas: Tama ang unang natutunan mong pag pronounce. Pilipinas - stress on the 3rd syllable, or the 2nd 'pi'. Just like in Pilipino. The new pronunciation you did in this video is actually wrong for the whole word. It is only used in the shortened one, which is 'Pinas'. Stress is 5:28 on 'nas'. Merry Christmas! Hahaha. ...instead of Hohoho. ✌️

@@tagalogkurt taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane and reminiscing our childhood memories in the Philippines back in the 80’s, we used to have Aratiles (Cotton Candy Berry in English) fruit tree in our garden. When we got home from school, my twin sister and I would climb up the Aratiles tree and enjoy the view from the tree-top while snacking on super sweet Aratiles, freshly-picked from the tree. The best fruit snack ever! ❤️❤️

i like my Tapsilog to have a dipping sausace with Banana Catsup & Vinegar, probably also with some soysauce & kalamansi mixed together. is you ever come by to branch of Don Galo's Tapsilogan it' probably one of the best tapsilog & it's fairly cheap, sone brances serves 24/7 tapsilog & they cook really fast, i always eat/dine out & have a take out order & just put is in the refrigirator & heat the tapslog in microwave any time of the day. Just put banana catsup+vinegar+soysauce+kalamansi .
