Hi Dennis, 1) it depends on for what you want to use your printer and how large models do you need. It is possible to cut the model and after you print all the parts you can glue them together. It wont take a lot of time 2) You can use any CAD for that. I recommend you the Autodesk Fusion which is for startups and individuals for free and for companies you pay about $495/year.
