Being able to set HDR Rendering and have it auto save as my default showing mode is a huge help! Thank you. I do have a question though...After I have saved the settings in the THETA app, will those same camera settings apply when I shoot in the Matterport app?

sorry, but I haven't tried it with the matterport app. Maybe you can try it and see? Most commercial apps set the settings prior to each session. It's possible that the Matterport app overwrites the built-in settings

can you take 360 still videos with the camera ? if so can you view the video with vr glasses with mobile phone screen ? like google cardboard style vr glasses ? And why are they so expensive and the image quality is bs ?

You can take videos with the SC2, but the duration is limited to a few minutes. You should check the spec sheet. The 360 videos can be viewed in a mobile phone, google cardboard, or in a VR headset. Note that this is a community channel. You should contact RICOH for official information.

What tripod/mono pod is that? I am looking for one that is just as narrow as the SC2. If the stick or appendages of the stick are wider than the camera base, it shows up in the shot. This looks just as narrow as the camera.

one is a microphone stand. Not recommended. The other is a monopod base. You can make your own extension with a 1/4" by 20 thread per inch rod at a hardware store. Get two or three nuts for the threaded rod to snug up the camera and base. see this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHWclHRvh7aYhNU

I’ve been trying for hours to connect to the SC2 to my iPhone to no avail. Any additional tips? I’m thinking this is the worst piece of electronics I’ve ever purchased and will likely be returning it in the next couple of days-as I sure don’t need this level of aggravation!

Please confirm you have upgraded the firmware in your camera. Use the desktop app on Mac/Windows and a USB cable to upgrade the firmware in the SC2. support.theta360.com/en/download/ It's called, basic app, computer application. Please post the version of firmware and the version of the mobile app you are using. If it is the most recent version, disable bluetooth on the phone temporarily for the test.

The image quality is the same as the THETA V for most shots. If you already have a V, you likely won't see a big difference with the SC2. The more expensive upgrade is the Z1. There is a real difference in image quality, but it is significantly more expensive.

There's no list of supported phones. If possible, buy it from a place with a return policy. I use a Google Pixel2 running Android 10 with the SC2. If you go to the Google Play store, you can download the app and test the basic functionality to make sure it works. Specifications for the SC2 list HDR Rendering and I've also tested it successfully with the SC2. theta360.com/en/about/theta/sc2.html The SC2 does not support plug-ins. The OS of the SC2 is different from the V/Z1/X
