I have both the Ninja and the Vitamix. I purchased the Ninja first because I thought paying so much for the Vitamix was ridiculous. This review is very accurate because the Ninja just did not perform and the Vitamix does everything it claims to do. I cut my fingers several times cleaning the Ninja, it DOES taste like your eating a salad and it's just overall impractical. I use the Vitamix EVERYDAY and the purchase has already paid for itself in my opinion.

nikki woods When my Nutribullet bit the bullet after a year of service (last couple uses had it making what I can only describe as "angry" sounds and a faint burning smell so I knew it was done) I decided to pony up for the 750. Best money I ever spent on a blender. It's an absolute juggernaut. Ice, anything frozen, carrots, celery...everything gets processed. All the hate comments make me all warm and fuzzy; you want a real mismatched comparison, the 750 will pound on the Ninja. And yes, Lenny is an affiliate so he gets some compensation from Vitamix (and save me shipping gonna couple items ordering from him, rather than direct).

I have had the Ninja pro 1000w for 9 months and the blades are still sharp. I use this every day. This thing crushes and smooths out the biggest frozen strawberries easily. I bought it on sale from Jet for $58 dollars. That equates to purchasing almost 7 Ninja's to 1 $400 V 5200. If it breaks I buy another one.

I recently bought the ninja 1000, i'm impressed ... I make a "green" drink to take me thru the week, it has kale in it, that was the test, it tore thru it and brought it down to liquid ... 3/4 c water, kale, celery, 1/2 lemon, 2 apples seeds & all, ginger, banana, a whole cucumber ... it took the whole pile right down, did a beautiful job!

Although this Ninja was perhaps not the comparable model to the Vitamix reviewed here, the negatives against Ninja in general seem to outweigh the lower price. Reading reviews on Amazon, reviewers complain about the cheap feel to the parts, the need to remove the awkward blade assembly every time you need to wash the inside, it is much noisier, the lack of a comprehensible warranty, and there are cracks between the plastic and rubber so moisture gets in there and takes a while to dry. Makes me wonder if mold will develop in there. The Vitamix is albeit more expensive but does come with a generous warranty which gives ample piece of mind. I own neither but am researching the options at this time.

You don’t need to go the whole 799, I got a Vitamix E310 that does the trick for 349.00. The best thing is to follow the protocol for loading: Water (milk, plant milk wet ingredient), soft foods (berries bananas ect), harder foods: Apples celery ect, greens then ice last! Make sure there’s enough water/plant milk to offset the ingredients. Walk it up from 1-10 and leave for 30 seconds to maybe a minute (follow the instructions included with product & and lots of you tube how to’s by advanced and long term users of Vitamix)? And you’re ready to go. It’s up to you what product you work with best. Look for refurbished.

My Vitamix blender is almost 30 years old and has performed numerous kitchen tasks during that time. It makes great soups on a daily basis. It has a metal container which is nearly indestructible. I have sent it back to be reconditioned once. The neatest thing I found that it did was when I was making tomato sauce to can. Drop the tomatoes in the top and sauce came out of the little faucet at the bottom, for continuous processing. The faucet is not indestructible though. I would not want to be without it. No bells or whistles which it does not need.

I just got my 5200 4 days ago, I was so nervous it wasn't going to live up to the hype! In the last four days I've made about 8 smoothies including green smoothies and two different soups. Everything has been as advertised! I am loving it and if for no other reason, I can't imagine ever wanting that Ninja with having to remove the blade to clean it. With two little kids running around the ease of cleaning has been fantastic!

I owned both a Ninja Professional and the Vitamix 5200. Needless to say..... I still own the Vitamix and gave my Ninja to my Mom. When I performed my own tests which I also used dehydrated leafy greens like Kale, Swiss Chard and Collard Greens; I too noticed a considerable difference in the texture of the drinks and often the color too. I also noticed the liquid separation occurred a lot quicker using the Ninja and the liquid was a higher volume with the Ninja (because the fibrous contents were not mulsified at the level of the Vitamix).

Great video! I have a similar ninja that is an older model. I wish I had invested in a Vitamix years ago and not purchased the ninja. The only good part about the ninja is the cup attachment. It is way better at blending then the larger containers. Using the ninja is not practical, it requires a lot of stops to scrape food off the sides.

This review was helpful!!! Just purchased the vitamix 5200. Originally I was hesitant on the price and had my eyes set for a Ninja pro . I have considered prior blenders (including Hamiltion Beach, Magic bullet and Nutribullet) that we purchased and the money wasted trying to be frugal and cutting corners. My purchase is equal to the blenders that broke. Overrall after watching this I am confident in my decision to get a Vitamix.

All these years later, my Ninja Pro is still rocking. Just used it Sunday for multiple reasons, and the blades worked flawlessly. Only thing I've done is buy a few extra accessories at the thrift store to make it even more useful. I've made soups, guacamole spread, hot sauce, bbq sauce, steak sauce, food blends when I had my jaw wired shut, etc.

Great job on this video. I'm glad I found it. Yes, we spent $500 on a Vitamix over 20 years ago, and the reason I'm kind of searching for a new blender is because the center knob broke off, and the rheostat may be dirty because the speed isn't steady any more as I increase it. It kind of jumps up and down. But after seeing this video, I'm going to keep the Vitamix and put up with the quirky speed dial. No biggie. Thank you for helping me with that decision. Now I'll head over to your website and check out recipes and such. Thanks again!

Pretty spot on. I eventually upgraded to a vitamix. For my first blender cost was the main factor and ninja has a very attractive price point and as stated it does most of the tasks good enough. However, I blend and airfry almost every day and eventually it just became worth it to have really good equipment for both. My ninja is however still kickin after 6 years and is serving as my travel blender. If you're on a budget ninja is a solid choice until you can transition to vitamix, but it isn't a substitute for one.

Thanks for the comparison video. I have been using a small personal blender to mix my ice cream, sherbet, gelato, and sorbet ingredients. I have been looking at larger blenders to replace my 14 oz Hamilton Beach personal blender. Last week, at the Wisconsin State Fair, I watched a demonstration of a 64 oz Vitamix blender. I was very impressed with its performance but was not willing to pay $900 for the blender. This week, I was able to find a 64 oz Vitamix 5200 blender for $429. Today, I found a 72 oz Ninja BL610 blender for $80.

yeah a bias and a personal adgenda of QUALITY, a bias of longevity a bias of reliability, a bias of resale value, etc Also the same for Blendtec, Waring pro, HB commercial, Omega, etc iwillnotbebroken He might not have had anything good to say about ninja because there really isn't much good to say about it except that it IS a good entry way for people on a budget to get more fruit and veggie into their diet. A breville hemisphere, a kitchenaid, an omega, an oster, a waring are far better quality than ninja and about the same price point when on sale. But we'd rather have you using a ninja and eating healthily than not using one at all, (but again, there are better choices)

His opinion is that he prefers Vitamix over the Ninja, but his opinion is based on the *fact* that Vitamix blends things more effectively than the Ninja. I owned a Ninja Professional for 4 years before splurging on a Vitamix a week ago. It is a night and day difference in quality. The Ninja never made smoothies as well as the Vitamix, and I never succeeded in making ice cream or nut butters in it either. Just 1 week with the Vitamix has it blowing Ninja out of the water (and yes - I am comparing my brand new Vitamix to what my Ninja was like when it was also brand new).

The multiple Layers of blades are far superior than a normal blender with just single layer of blades. When I use it for a single serving as an example I put about five frozen strawberries in 1/2 frozen banana one scoop of my vegan protein and about 20 ounces of water. The best thing to do is run it on its highest speed for about 30 seconds to 45 seconds. Or maybe up to one minute depending how much fiber you have to blend and try to pulverize. When you put frozen fruit in you don’t need to add ice. It blends excellent but always has a little bit of gritty texture. Because it’s not A juicer it’s a blender you always have to add water. I just think to myself I’m getting hydrated and juice at the same time. Plus a lot of fiber. I disagreed with his cleanup portion of the video. I filled up my ninja about 2/3 of the way with hot water and add some liquid dishwashing detergent. Put the lid on close it with the blades in it and leave it on for at least 30 seconds. Keep your hand over the cover for the pourspout the foam can push through there if you keep your hand on it stay inside the picture. Then I rinse all the parts thoroughly. I have a reverse osmosis water unit and then rinse it with that water so there will be no spots. Sometimes there will be a little hard core spec on the picture you just scrub it and rinse it some more. The blade cleans up just fine while using it to blend the soap and water. I have a metal grate I set the blade on and then I placed the picture on it upside down so no one will get cut by the blades when it while it’s drying. Cover dries right next to it. It’s ready to use the next day Or later that day.

Cleaning it the way you described while filling with HOT water and turning on the ninja -is a hazard!! The steam builds up really fast and can explode out- causing severe burns!!!! Maybe luke warm water- room temp. Is fine, but please, DONT DO IT WITH HOT WATER

I have the Vitamix 7500, I've been using it for the past couple weeks and I am so glad I invested in something that can bring real health to my family. So far, for the summer, I've been making a bunch of drinks, preferably Greens, typical smoothies, like mixed berries, some drinks that Henry PJ shown in his videos and I'm very curious to try your drinks as well.

I have had the Ninja pro ever since it came on the market. I have never had a problem with it. I have a very large garden and use it for all my canning, salsa, relishes, soups, my husband uses it for smoothies. I have never cut myself on the blades and I wash them by hand after every use. I make nut based cheeses with the ninja and the nuts come out very smooth with no grit. I liked the ninja so much I bought a second. The vita mix may be good for drinks, but it’s no good for canning.

I’m 63 and wanted a Vitamix since I was 19. I finally bought a professional 5200 a few years back. Love it! My main complaint is the difficulty getting my food out of the bottom of the canister. That being said I was devastated to find out the new models have smaller canisters available to mix a little sauce or a personal shake. But the small canister can not be used with my model. I certainly can’t buy another. I’m glad I got such a powerful blender but sure wish I could use a small canister for a small portion. P S my niece’s husband went to the emergency room after cutting his hand on the Ninja.

I have both units. My Vitamix in my cabinet all the time, while I use my personal cups in my Ninja every single day. So, if you have a big family and you going to use it everyday, yes Vitamix is nice. Otherwise use it single cup on your Ninja. My smoothes are great (you may have to use few more seconds to run) and don't look like in this video. You forgot to compare the prices..................

When you buy a VItamix, you only buy once. Period. After spending boatloads getting a new blender once a year/year and a half, I finally broke down and bought a Vitamix. That's it. There's a reason why restaurants and bars use Vitamix almost exclusively. Powerful, easy to use and to clean, and the blades aren't dangerous. The blades in the Ninja, on the other hand, are OSHA magnets.

+Oat Milk - The Vitamix blades are already dull. They are blunted not sharp, which is really the secret to the Vitamix versatility. The sharp Ninja blades will eventually become dulled but the Vitamix blade technology does not allow that to happen. In addition, the Vitamix 7-year warranty is nothing to sneeze at!

@@LINY another way to look at it, a cheap blender will more than like die within a year if you use it for moderate to heavy tasks. So let's say we buy the CEAP one $40 x 7(lenfgr of warrenree) $280. So even if you have a habit if being cheap and bought the vitamix Explorian($260) you still save even if the Explorian died the last day of the warrenter.
