I thought it would be fun to put these two powerful blenders in a side-by-side comparison and run them through a few tests. They are both great blenders and I would be happy having either one of these in my home... but which one is the best? Let me know your thoughts and comments down below. Which blender do you have?

Not even once did it jam and did something like you did in the second test. by doing so, you just did a bad advertizing for a blender that is, to me, one of the best thing i have ever purchase in my whole life, and i am not even kidding about it. the only thing i can add to that is that, i plan to always have a Blendtec on my kitchen counter for the rest of my life. period.

Pea, hemp, pumpkin, and sacha inchi protein powders all seem to digest pretty well for me...I think variety is key...I usually go for the ones least processed like Sunwarrior warrior blend etc.... I find it to be a very helpful way to spike my protein levels while keeping calories down...a wonderful invention in my view....but just like anything there are good and bad ones...not ideal to lean on in place of meals....

Hey Derek. I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and I really look forward to everything you put out. You were a big inspiration on me to start eating healthier (btw I’ve been vegan for 2.5 years). So anyways... my father recently passed away and I’m only 16 years old, like you were when you lost your dad (my dad was vegan too). And although I believe that genetics doesn’t play a big role in longevity, my father died from a sudden cardiac arrest which can happen to younger people, affects males, and was something that all his uncles had. He went vegan because he wanted to join my sister and I in our new lifestyle and wanted to be healthy. After becoming vegan his blood tests were phenomenal, and his cholesterol went down 45 points, along with taking multi vitamin and omega 3 supplements. He was in great shape and before he died recently had run 1.5 miles in under 9 minutes after not running at all, and at 71 years old. This has been really hard for my family but I always went back to you as a source of positivity. If there is something you could say or share, it would mean a lot. Thanks.

You guys simply don't understand how to use the Blendtec properly to get the best results. You need to adjust the speeds when you blend certain products to allow the blender to suck in items that can get stuck above the blades when there isn't enough fluid present. I've had mine for many years and never needed to use any type of tamper tool.

In fairness, it is possible to make a smooth frozen dessert in a Blendtec. It's just not as easy. You need a very specific ratio of ingredients in smaller pieces. With the Vitamix, none of that matters because you can literally force everything into the blade and not worry about air pockets forming.

I’ve had a Blendtec for 7 years and it’s made everything perfectly. It doesn’t need a tamper because it has many cycles that do those tasks. You use pulse instead of tamper to get the same result. Yes you can make but butter but it take a long time and a lot of starting, stopping and scraping the sides etc. pesto is about the limit of the Blendtec and things like the same nicecream forget about it unless you like spending time stuffing around. On the blendtec when making ice cream you could have stopped it and pushed stuff down with a spoon or something. Sure it takes more time and effort but you’d at least get ice cream out of it and then compare the total time. vitamix still would have won but it wouldn’t have been a complete blow out.

I've had a Blendtec for over 8 years, but am in the market for a new one. I'm leaning toward a Vitamix, but I have to say that you are not operating the Blendtec correctly. You can't do everything at full speed. Both the ice cream and lemon tests will work, but you need to go at slower speeds and pulse to begin to avoid the air pocket, then increase the speed. Having said that, the presets are not all that useful, so if you were doing a proper test, you would operate it manually, which is how the Vitamix works. Thanks for the great demo, tho! Fun to watch.

No way, the Blendtec is def a winner. If you have to have a tamper to do the job, then you're not making a decent blender. You have had a Vita Mix, so, you are already bias as to who's the best, Besides, the woman wasn't even smart enough to put the top of the carafe on, how can I think she did anything else right.

The Blendtec is a very good blender. The VitaMix is far superior however. By the way.....The VitaMix model you chose to compete against the Blendtec is their least expensive/least expensive model. Based on the HP rating and MSRP the Blendtec should have been compared to the VitaMix 750 or A3500.

blendtec: THEE WORST kitchen appliance i have ever purchased, and that was about 5 or 6 years ago. LOUD AF, not that great in performance, and it has been back in the cupboard since. thank god i did not toss my 60 yr old oster, with its simple toggle off-on switch. that is still my main stay. DO NOT BUY A BLENDTEC. maybe if i ever get into canning and preserving, i can use this piece of crap again, but for now, a dust-collector.

My vitamix overheats and turns itself off when you make tough things like hummus. It is also impossible to get the stuff out of the bottom because the blades are there, and it's a pain to clean. The Nutribullet pro is really good for smoothies and a lot easier to clean

Get a Vitamix Unless they upgraded the "Pitcher" part Blendtec is crap. To replace the pitcher costs about "$120+ EACH", they had a rubber gasket that sealed between the pitcher and blade. It would wear out anywhere from 2-3 weeks to 3 months. I have 3 from the first year I bought the blender... we just got a $12 blender from Walmart that works, and packed away our Blendtec for grinding larger stuff that won't spill out the hole... (update) After looking at the new/recent products, they had to change it because the old pitchers/jars had a flaw and they kept having to send out replacements to everyone. the new ones look better, I also learned there are many repair videos and even an after-market "Jar" you can buy that fixes the old pitchers/jars. the motor is good (a bit loud and vibrates) but good trade for power, I am planning on ordering a new updated pitcher and willing to try one more time.

I've had the Vitamix 5200 for 14 years. Been bullet proof till now. The potentiometer started malfunctioning last week. Just ordered a replacement for $30 and looks like a 15 minute fix. Thinking about getting a 750 as an update, and keep the 5200 at the farm house. I get tired of hauling it back and forth. I have a dedicated moving box for it and the two containers (wet and dry). I've checked out the Blentec units and they just feel like a lesser quality unit. The design of the container is inferior to the Vitamix too. But I'm sure they do a fine job, and have read many favorable reviews on them.

Well, one could also argue that the BlendTec had 50% more horsepower than the Vitamix so a direct comparison of the two brands is unfair from the inception. I've owned both brands, and have to say that the Vitamix is the best for how I use it, which is mostly for juices and smoothies. The manual speed dial allows anyone to quickly become an expert at avoiding the dreaded air bubble stall, getting a great blend without aerating the mix too much. I felt like the BlendTec, while still a fantastic blender, just tended to splash and whip liquids too much due to the higher horsepower and wider pitcher design. I spent much more time pausing to wipe down pitcher walls on the BlendTec than I ever did with the Vitamix. If a person wants to crush ice, I'd say the BlendTec beats the Vitamix pretty easily, but for juice and smoothies, I prefer the narrow and tall pitcher and the power level and direct control of the Vitamix to the wide pitcher, higher horsepower and preset digital controls of the BlendTec.

I was going to go with a vitamix, but then its max blender was 2.2HP and blendtec has a 3.8hp monster. So I went with blendtec. Only had my blendtec 725 for about 3 days and so far I am not impressed lol. It bounces quite a bit and one of the corners of the lid gradually opens up which allows for blends to leak out. Pretty sure mine is defective - thats what I get for ordering off of amazon I guess.

I have a Vitamix Pro series 300, There so expensive in the UK at £499. In my home town we had one of the only Whole foods Markets outside of London but when they got bought out by Amazon and they decided to shut some stores ours was one of them 😭. I arrived late on closing day and when I got in the store all the blenders were gone so i found a staff member and asked if there were any left and he said no but would check out back, It was my lucky day and he brought me the last one in the store and I got it for £249. Up till this point I was using a Magimix but the Vitamix was a game changer in terms of smoothness and I love it to bits 😎.

I have an #amm follow up question from your winter blues video posted about a month ago. In the video, you show a study that shows how juices containing spinach and some other juices like grapefruit juice can significantly reduce oxidative stress in your body after running a marathon, almost to the levels of having no oxidative stress! What I am wondering is if the juice used in the trial is fresh or pressed and bottled? I have read numerous things about bottled juiced lacking all the vitamins they claim are in it as they degrade almost entirely after 48 hours of the initial juice, this claim includes cold pressed juice. Thank you fellow WFPB!

I have had a Vitamix 5200 for years and a just purchased a Blendtec Classic 575 today. I am not sure which one I like better but I will say that just leaving the ice cream mixture with the blade spinning in the Blendtec like you did is a bit ridiculous. I think that was a fluke air bubble and you should have tried it again. I can almost guarantee if you had of stopped it, given a quick pulse at low speed then continued the Blendtec would have had no issue. The one thing that I have concluded in the 12 hours that I've had the Blendtec is that it definitely is able to mix up very thick smoothies without any assistance, which I prize. With my Vitamix there's no way that it will mix up the same ingredients without a tamper. I believe this has as much to do with the shape of the container as it has to do with the blades, but I could be wrong.

Ok , Vitamix all day long over blendtec . Read story at end. Between me, my girl, friends and kids we have over 6 vitamixes all the way back to the TNC Vita mix. My preference is the vitamix 64oz tall container over the low container , granted it wont fit under most cabinets but you can blend smaller quanities with it, the ascent series has got too many features to go wrong with it just my opinion, the best combo from vita mix i would recomend is the G series with the low container and a extra tall 64 oz container..this combo gets you the more powerfull 2.2hp motor of the G series vs the C series and avoids all the computer crap of the Ascent series. Now the story i was referring to my gf bought her recond g series(i currently have a 15yo+ TNC) and it arrived with something bad (cant remember what it was, it might have just been a wierd noise she heard), she called vitamix and vitamix imeadiatly sent a new unit out , when it arived she boxed the old one and sent it back.no hassel what so ever.. The other point id like to make it looks like the C series is being faded out and there is a food processor attachment coming for the ascent in fall/winter of 2020. There apperently is a chip in the food processor ,, seeing how the containers are all chipped for the ascent , id be curious if the processor attachment works on the G and C series , as far as i know they all use the same base and hub, so it should but im not positive about this..the only difference is the ascent will not turn on unless the container has a chip in it , atleast thats my understanding

If all you have is a smoothie. And no food to chew. Then, please, at least throw a few chunks of fruit to chew on. As proper digestion really does better with the salava. The salava in our mouths do go with the stomach acid and enzymes for a better breaking down of the food. Our digestion actually starts in the mouth... With the chewing and the salava. As terrible and wierd as it may sound. 😊

Blendtec is completely useless for anything other than liquids because it lacks a tamper. Try making nut butters in it...that would be a complete disaster. And who cares about auto controls. I have auto controls on my Vitamix and never use them. The timer in it is nice though so you know how long you've been blending. Also, you should have tried making hot soup in blendtec.
