I absolutely love the surreal landscape with the swirly sky!! 🩵💜

That landscape picture with the river and purple mountains looks as if it could've been one of the brilliant chalk pictures that Bert in Mary Poppins drew that he, Mary Poppins and the kids jumped into!! Just lush!! 💜💜 Can only imagine how amazing a place it'd be to explore. And it having a sky whose swirly patterns reminded me of that in my favourite artist's - i.e. Vincent Van Gogh made it all the more gorgeous and my favourite picture

I live the oil pastell painting you did! Because you asked about fixative: I like to use the oil pastel fixative made by sennelier. It really stops them from smudging. (I dont have sennelier pastels but neopaastels but it worked fine on them too, so I think it should work with any oil pastels. I even fixated my neocolor 2 with that spray and it worked fine xD)

Melanie, I watch your videos because they make me smile, make my heart lift with the pleasure of your creativity, and by the end, I'm relaxed and happy, having learned things along the way. Thank you! I slow down the very fast videos, and at O.75 you still sound 'normal', though I need to give my eyes brief rests along the way. But though I definitely prefer the slower speeds, I still watch those which are faster. Much as I'd love it in RealTme, watching a 14 hour video would be rather too long... 😄 My favourite today? Hard to choose, but I think the first tall house. A very different format with an imaginative subject and colour palette is like an unexpected Christmas present. Thanks again. I don't usually write effusive comments, but just wanted you to know how much this older artist appreciates you. 😊

Wow wow wow, one of your landscapes looks like 3 ideas putntogether that I have in my idea-drop book. It will never cease to amuse me how life reflects the inner to the outer. Very beautiful 🩷

I`m very intrigued with the fact the oil pastels can be blended together like that. I only have seen it your videos. Today I finally tried it out wit a little swirl like you did the sky. It`s so much fun! 🥰

I have the pastel pastels and the other set also and yes they are all "sweaty". I use satin glazing liquid ( I have golden brand) to seal mine and it works really well. Gorgeous piece btw...I love the colours and the swirliness lol

These pieces are gorgeous!!! I love getting to watch you create different works with multiple mediums. Since watching your last video I got some nail art brushes for foredge painting and they work great for those fine details. Thanks for the idea.

I loved all your paintings, especially the oil landscape. I've been using Caran D'Ache Neo pastel for more than 10 years, it didn't change, never oily on the outside. It's not buttery soft like the brands I've seeing around, so I ordered the Paul Rubens Sea and Flowers sets, both arrived today. It was a pleasure to watch how you approach each medium. Thank you for sharing! Edit: The Membership button isn't visible, at least I don't see it.

@@FloralHeart Hey there, thanks for letting me know and for your kind words 😊 There is no button for it as the membership is not on KZbin! It's on the same platform as my courses. There's a link in the description of the video that will take you to the membership 🥰

I love your paintings, all of them. Maybe I was most impressed by the oil pastel landscape. I love oil pastels! And it really makes a difference if you use higher quality. I was dissatisfied with cheaper brands (I really don't understand why people like Mungyo so much), but I love my Sennelier and Caran d'Ache Neopastel! But oil pastels are quite messy and not so easy for details. This is why I haven't used them in a while. Pity though, they are a very sensuous enjoyable medium! By the way: No sweating on the Sennelier or Neopastel. We don't have AC, so it gets really (!) hot in summer. But the oil pastels are fine. However, you can't use Sennelier at 30°C, they are already quite soft, and the heat makes them even softer. About this type of video: I appreciate this type for inspiration and for admiring your art (which I do greatly!). The slower, one picture videos are more helpful if I want a tutorial. So both types are very welcome. And thank you for mentioning that this video took you 14 hours plus planning and sketching! I always think that I'm an extremely slow painter. That even an accomplished artist like you needs so many hours is comforting.

My Paul Rubens Haiya sweat, and I’ve heard other KZbinrs mention the same thing. I guess the extra oil is part of what makes them so soft at a good price point :)

You can actually access some of the underground tunnels. We were there about 6 years ago and it was really cool. They project hospital scenes on the wall of the tunnel and it looks like ghosts. :) I took the exact same photo when we were there. :D Thanks for the great video! It was quite inspiring and I want to try everything you've done in my new sketchbook so I saved it on my "inspiration" playlist. :) Especially liked the colour palette of the oil pastel piece and I think a dusty rose type colour would have been an amazing background for the storybook house. :)

That's so cool! I was there around the same time actually (2018) but I don't think we were able to enter or at least I don't remember that anymore 😅 That's awesome, I hope you have fun with them 😊

My Paul Rubens oil pastels are so, so, so oily, lol. I've got the same pastel colors set you got, and the original color set, and both are very oily. I'll wipe them off but next time I use them, they've oozed oil all over again, even in an extremely dry Chicago winter, with no humidifier on.

These are so beautiful!!! My Paul Reubens Macaron oil pastel set sweats as well. They sit on my table in the air conditioning and they are the only pastels that sweat! Weird!

@@VisualMind Yeah…I’ve had mine sitting out on my desk for about a year and I just picked some of them up and the outside wrappers are oily and the pastels are gooey. They still work, but they are messy.

Those pointy Paul Rubens oil pastels all have that residue on them. Most people who use them in videos comment on this issue. That’s why I didn’t buy them. Have you tried the Mungyo Gallery soft oil pastels? They are awesome without the oily residue. Also, Mont Marte premium soft oil pastels are great too and inexpensive. You have to get the “premium” ones though, not the “signature”ones. It says it on the box. The SoHo Urban Artists soft oil pastels are in my top 5 also. They are fabulous.

Sennelier oil pastels do the same thing where the oil seeps out. I’d like to know why it happens as they are soft as well. Keep creating 💛💜💙
