Our favorite hand soap by far is from Blueland. Its a foaming hand soap that comes in tablets that you just add water to which makes it so much easier to store back stock and you can even get a kit that comes with the glass bottle. They also have a couple variations of their glass bottles in different colors. The packaging from the soap is also compostable!

Excellent as always. We are a family of 3 extremely clumsy people; I love glass containers but have finally surrendered to our family’s reality. For us, this week’s glass container is next week’s sharp shattered clean-up. Apparently even the best only survive a few bounces off the tile floor! 😞 But they DO look and feel so much nicer! I am 💯💯💯 with you on the glass soap bottles!! I'm obsessed with B&BW soap but hate the packaging. I got some squared white ceramic soap dispensers from Dollar Tree of all places and made matching labels for soap and lotion and they look SO clean and chic!!! The bright colors and patterned bottles on most soaps, even high end, just create a lot of visual clutter. A minimalist soap bottle is a subtle change that really elevates kitchens and bathrooms in a big way!!

I think a pretty fabric shower curtain that is washable helps a lot too and keep the plastic liner switch out. I had a glass sliding shower door and got rid of it because it was too hard to keep clean and glass doors are a safety hazard to me when combined with a wet floor. 😊

I moved to a new house. Had the bathroom walls painted BM silver cloud (light blue gray) to match adjoining bedroom. Switched out light fixtures, including converting recessed lights in a 14 foot ceiling to pendants with soft swirl gray shades, switched farmhouse over-the-sink for a sleek modern LED light. There were dimmers already. One thing I LOVE is a shower curtain with a sheer section at the top, satin ribbon trim, solid color body. Plus artwork and plants.

A+++ for content! Most valuable for me: You convinced me on the faucet upgrade-loved that geometric black set. Most valuable generally: The movable tray for people who keep everyday stuff on the counter and don't want it out when guests come. Even for a person who doesn't doesn't want to bunch it on a tray all the time, having a tray ready in a designated space allows quick removal and recovery when necessary. Cool!

I have a jetted tub in my bathroom, and I have never used it. Why do they have these in bathrooms, when most people I have talked to, have never used theirs? taking it out is not cheap either. I am still contemplating this big project. I do like the floating shelves idea, though a bathroom mural never crossed my mind. New here and I enjoyed your video!

I'm going to upgrade to glass bottles (did so in the kitchen, no clue why I left the powder room out). Also, I've been wanting to do floating shelves forever, so that's a definite yes now, I finally found brackets that will work and that I trust. I love those chargeable lightbulbs you use, and will have to look into them. I got into using red light before bedtime, and I have a red nightlight but that's not quite enough doing my hygiene by. Having a mini light on a shelf, one that's amber or red, would be fabulous! NOW, A QUESTION: about 10 years ago we got these cool, halogen lights for the powder room. It's a small spaces, and paying that much for a fixture just because it fit hurt, but it was so *pretty.* It's just about impossible to find that type of a halogen lightbulb now, and the LED for halogen from Ikea don't work. Can you suggest some chic, wall-mounted, bright-enough lights that aren't too large for a small, suburban Pittsburgh powder room? Thank you!

I use plastic soap dispensers because I like foaming hand soap. Have you been able to find glass dispensers that do foaming soap? I've had trouble finding ones that actually work.

You may want to look into the effectiveness (or rather, lack thereof) of foaming soap dispensers. Even a basic biology lesson on how soap impacts cells would suffice.

@@username00009 Not what I asked. Depends where you look. Plenty of studies say that regular soap harms your skin and destroys the protective barrier. The liquid soap at my office is horrible and makes hands feel dry and cracked. So if I want to use foaming- and sing happy birthday while I wash my hands- I can do that. We take turns bringing soap into the office. And we like it to look nice.

I was watching another designer and her suggestion was to have disposable hand towels in your powder rooms and bathrooms for when guests come over (and a visible disposal basket). The idea apparently was that there’d be germophobes who wouldn’t feel comfortable using hand towels. Is this a thing?

I had the problem for years that nobody wanted to use my pretty finger tip towels in the powder room regardless if they were on a towel rack or I had them on the counter next to the sink. Once Covid hit I gave up and for sanitary reasons switched to paper guest towels in a great modern lucite container, designed specifically to hold them, from Amazon. My mother and grandmother always had these. People no longer have to be tricky by using the underside of a hand towel, thinking nobody has used that section! Now I just have to remind my guests to actually use the paper guest towels and that they are not just for show. You can pick up different designs at Homegoods or Tuesday Morning or order monogrammed ones on the internet. It is also a great idea for parties so you don't have to worry about clean, dry hand towels.

I know this is a little uncomfortable but, I have a separate toilet room from my bathroom/storage. I use a tidy bin in my toilet room for the disposal of tampons. I use a ring of tape (so that it's sticky on both sides) to tape a small folded bag to the underside of the lid for a more discreet tampon disposal. This tidy bin set up avoids the flushing of tampons due to modesty. Once they open the bin to use it, the bag is obvious.

If there’s tile, have the grout professional cleaned. If you own, try painting in case the smell is in the walls.

😉😂 Can’t speak for others but I have sponges/towels for countertops, some for regular dishwashing (only one kept on sink counter) , some for pan with cooked on “stuff”that makes the sponges look tapped out. The list goes on. And I’m sure my family could care less, IF they clean anything I’m sure they use the same pretty sponge from the counter😵‍💫

My bathroom is less than 5.5 wide…roughly my height. (I can’t lay flat across, so I’m thinking 5 ft. And about 6ft long…yeah. Yay tiny historical home kits 😒😒😒😒 My house is just not meant for designs, the ceilings are about 7ft or shorter, BUT, the upstairs has slanted ceilings. I can’t even use a damn bed frame unless I stick it in front of the weird walk in, slanted, less than a closet more of hiding hole, space, or if I’d like to chop off 3ft of space on the slanted side and make that unusable space (no normal head board will fit there. The slant ends at my damn knees. UGGHHHHHHHHH oh yeah. And all my rooms are 10ft by 11ft. With the slant-pretty much 10ft by 9ft

a ‘puck light’? Is that like a rechargeable tea light Did you know you can buy rechargeable flickering LED tea light? I saw them in restaurants & they make a place look like a Buddhist temple. You can get them in sets of 12 on a platter (Sweetie, B R E A T H E I get breathless listening to you & listening to your need to swallow saliva. Just… B R E A T H E ) luv ya, but I can’t listen to you all in one go, I have to go in bits.
