I buy paracord of eBay and make my own camera straps, sometimes I make them just for making them sake and stick them in my camera bag and give them away, I mean there so cheap, it's just nice if someone comments on your strap to say, here you go, have a nice day. Good video

I make my own as well. I made a bunch and I carry a few on me just in case someone like them and wants to buy.

Lol thats funny I actually made myself this DIY strap based of this video last week. So stoked on the result and money saved

Nice wrist strap, I’ve made a couple of these, neck and shoulder straps as well. Belts are tricky but a cool project too.
@skulpturlamm2947 жыл бұрын
I've done one of these and it's actually possible to do it without any matal parts. I'm always kind of paranoid about damaging my screen with sth. like the keyring. Apart from that I like the diy stuff, keep it up!

The only things you get from buying a strap is saving an hour work and satisfaction from getting it done yourself.

I have a paracord loom where you can make whatever size plus you could put a small buckle just like the original one you paid for. But it looks darn awesome and you did a awesome job making it. You gave me a clue in how to make a wrist strap for my ps vita

That actually looks really nice and easy. I'm picking up a Sony A7II this week so I'm gonna try to make a burnt orange camera strap to go along with it!

Done. It’s super sweet. I did it another way and I like it much better. But it’s great.

For video work I would suggest using the cord to loop into the camera as the key ring can make noise which will be picked up by the mic. Thanks for the vid

I used that same tutorial to make mine! :) I love it.

Great video, thanks for sharing. Where can I get that amazing brass jack you used to tie off the cord? Love that thing!

I'm sure someone has mentioned this down below (I'd imagine) but if not --- you can buy a pack full of those mini carabiners that's on the Dispatch strap for around 5 bucks on Amazon and probably elsewhere... packs of 20 if I remember right. You could use one on each end if you wanted to.

6 dollars win. I would add one of the peak design anchor at the end, so I can use my peak design system.
@Ryezn50574 жыл бұрын
clever, can you just buy the peak deign clips without the straps.
@MrV2u6 жыл бұрын
Instead of using the key ring to attach the strap I just attached it the same way you did Steiger to the camera. Even more secure in my opinion.

Helpful. thanks I like that you got the purchase price wrong three times. I would have liked it more if on the third time it was yet another price, so that there were three incorrect prices...just something to think about, and maybe work on.

What you meant still a good deal it is a GOOD DEAL pkus with that much paracord and ring you could like make five strap which like 5x32=160 dollars
@kylestewart44446 жыл бұрын
I just don't really know how much those plastic clips can be trusted with heavier cameras. I'm sure they're rated for a certain amount of weight but they just look kinda flimsy to me. I'd be more inclined to trust paracord by itself rather than paracord connected to a plastic clip held on my nylon string.
@daniells715 жыл бұрын
over time, the metal keyring will eat into the camera
@dastreetspart33704 жыл бұрын
not true. cameras use to come with them originally attached..
@daniells714 жыл бұрын
@@dastreetspart3370there are many cameras out there so let me be more specific. If you hook a metal ring to a plastic one and they are used in a way that they are constantly rubbing, the plastic will wear out and eventually through. Metal on metal is much slower and may outlive the usefulness of the camera, subject to use/abuse of course.
