Just found you and love all the new recipes! I don't know if you've ever tried Dr Pepper pork ribs. It's a rack of ribs in the crock pot and a 2 liter of Dr Pepper for about 6 hours or so (on low, 4ish hours on high) and then drain the Dr Pepper and add your choice of BBQ sauce for about 30-45 mins and they literally fall off the bone and melt in your mouth 😊 Let me know if you try and like it 😊

I think the taco meal sounds great. What size crock pot do you use?
@nicelady514 жыл бұрын
I wondered how the watery potato/ burger dish tasted. I think that could easily have been saved, if not in appearance, then in flavor, for sure. I would have taken a casserole dish, sprayed with veg oil spray and scooped all from the crock into the casserole dish. Dot with butter and into a 400° oven to brown up. Spread more cheese and put under the broiler for a quick melt, slightly browned top layer. I am stubborn to a fault about wasting food. I cook family sized quantities and bag and tag after cooling overnight in the refrigerator. You get no ice crystals that way. I have no problem eating the same thing for 3-4 days straight, either. Food like in this video is so much healthier and satisfying than fast food any day of the week. Great job putting 5 meals in one very clear, easy to understand video. Well done! Pun intended 🤗

I like that you leave in the "fails". Best advice on the cheese, anytime you are going to melt cheese in or on anything, just buy the block and grate it yourself. There are additives in the shredded cheese to make it not stick together in the bag that really make it weird when trying to melt it. Thanks for the videos.
@debrajohnson50734 жыл бұрын
You used the wrong cheese . You needed the name brand block cheese and grate it yourself . The cheese you used has a lot of water in it along with the additives

I was married to a meat cutter for twelve years, he’s passed now, but I learned so much from him. Meats like chicken should be rinsed before cooking and just dried on a paper towel. Meats like pork chops that have been cut by a saw at the store, should also be wiped down with a wet paper towel since most meat cutters don’t get all of the “bone sawdust” off when cutting them. This is often true with beef steaks as well. You have great recipes and I’ve just watched my first video but I’ll be back. God bless!

I wash with water all my meat and poultry. Especially chicken and pork chops. We have been getting tons of small sharp bones lately. Kids ,dogs and even you could choke on them. Pork chops need to be rubbed while rinsing because some have little bones still stuck to the main bone. Its like looking for bones in perch etc. As for chicken, I want to wash off as many germs as possible.

We love crockpot meals😊 I’ve always had a crockpot but until I had a patient come in who told me how she had several different sizes of crockpots and cooked her sides in the small ones and the main dish in the larger one to save time I didn’t realize how great of an idea that was.One of our favorite dishes is you take a boneless pork roast take a can of refried beans and smooth it over the pork roast then dump your favorite jar of salsa on top and cook it on low all day then shred it and have tacos or burritos or nachos. Another one we like is you take about a 3 pound roast one can of golden mushroom soup one can of cream of mushroom soup and 1 pound of green beans you can add an onion sliced or diced and salt and pepper to taste and you combine it all in the crockpot and cook it on low now I double up I put in two cans of golden mushroom soup and two cans of cream of mushroom because I like to have extra for gravy over mashed potatoes. In the fall and winter I make overnight oatmeal in the crockpot you take one cup of steel cut oats 5 cups of water a fourth a teaspoon salt 2 to 3 tablespoons of butter 1 cup of dried fruit and nuts and 1/4 cup of brown sugar using a 2 quart slow cooker you combine all the ingredients and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours it’s best when it’s made the evening before it’s not sticky like regular oatmeal and we’ve had it a few days in a row. My husband likes it with apples walnuts cinnamon and brown sugar he says it smells like apple pie cooking😊❤️

Layered Potatoes: In order to absorb the water you can add 1/4 cup flour to you layers on top of the potatoes. This is how we make it thicken up in the oven, I'm sure it will work for the crock-pot. It will also make it creamier. Chicken Queso: When draining the excess liquid, I would reserve this liquid and use it to replace some of the water when making rice. It will add flavor and nutrition to the rice.

My all time favorite crock pot recipe is a pulled pork sandwich recipe, sooo easy and tasty! Ingredients: 2-2.5 lbs of pork(i recommend pork tenderloin) 1/2 onion sliced 2 Tbsp paprika 2 Tsp Cumin 2 Tsp ground black pepper 1 Tsp Chili powder 1 Tsp Chipotle powder 1 Tbsp Sea salt 1/2-1 Tsp Liquid smoke BBQ sauce Directions: 1: Put everything in Crock-Pot except BBQ sauce 2: Cook on medium for 6 hours or low for 8-10 hours 3: Shred meat 4: Add BBQ sauce (I personally LOVE Stubb's BBQ sauce, I also like to add 1.5 bottles of Stubb's BBQ sauce) Love you vids!!!

Yummy, do you use a small can of pineapple, or large one. Is it the pineapple chunks you use? I'm dying to try this.
@MrsEJV4 жыл бұрын
Peytee Puff To be exact, the recipe I began with is: 1/2 cup low sodium soy, 1/3 C honey, 1/3 C hoisin sauce, 2T rice vinegar, 2t grated ginger, 5 cloves garlic, 1 small onion, diced, 1/4 t chili flakes, 2T cornstarch. I added the pineapple (large can of chunks, drained) and the water chestnuts (make sure they are sliced to save time), and have thrown in mandarin oranges in the last half hour. Sooner than that they fall apart. Don’t fret if you don’t have all the ingredients. The cornstarch is to thicken after the chicken comes out. I use the juice from the pineapple mixed with the cornstarch. Also throw in a little sesame oil if I have it, but it’s a highly forgiving recipe. I prefer bone in thighs. They hold together better. But really - if you don’t have all the ingredients life will go on. If you don’t have honey use a little brown sugar. Let me know if you try it!

Browned ground beef lean & drained with onions and garlic 2 cans of black beans drained and rinsed 2 cans of kidney beans 2 cans of rotel 1 bag of frozen corn 2 little cans of green chilis Taco seasoning to taste. I have a big container of it so I don’t buy the packets. 2 cups of water Serve with tortilla chips, shredded cheddar & sour cream and or quacamole 😋 If u leave out the tortillas and sour cream it’s super healthy and has like no points if u do weight watchers

I don't remember the name of it now, but I think it was dish #2... When I saw you add broccoli & create lunches for the next week, I remembered one of my favorite tips... So many of our dump & go crock pot meals contain pasta, cheese, and/or a lot of creamy sauces, but no vegetables. Frequently, they also tend to be all red, yellow or beige, which can make them appear a little bland. You can easily toss in a handful of fresh baby spinach leaves to make these dishes a little bit more healthy. The spinach hardly distorts the flavor or texture at all. It adds a little fresh color to these otherwise one-color meals, making them more appetizing. Plus the health benefits of spinach are practically too many to count, so why not? 😉

When you soak your potatoes in water overnight(which i do every time i am using my crockpot) you should strain them and get as much liquid out as you can...i learned this the hard way and once i started doing the straining things turned out WAYYYY better! That taco soup looks amazing! I have been wanting to try this but I am not a bean person so i feel like it would go to waste for me 😔 i think ill make some of italian chicken...great video!!!

Try frozen mixed veggies without lima beans instead. We use green giant or the one in the blue bag that i can't think of the name of, maybe birds eye. You can use the one with green beans or even the one with asparagus. Both have corn and carrots. Perfect sub for beans. Corn is always good in any Mexican food. 😊

We like to mix Catalina salad dressing and apricot preserves, for chicken or meatballs, or little smokeys. Just a little change, but VERY tastey.

shopping list and prep for 3meal crockpot speical 5 lb pork roast (bonless) 4medium red potatoes 1 lg white onion 1 sm green cabbage 1pk frozen mixed veggies (I use corn, carrots and pees) 1pk or 10 to16ocan pork gravy and 2pks pie crust sear roast in olive oil lightly on all sides in a med high fry pan.Then place in crockpot. slice onion, and quarter (lenthways) potatoes. place them in crockpot, add 1 c water. turn crockpot on low and let cook for 4 hrs. Cut cabbage into quarters or slices, (witchever you feel will fit in your pot over other unstirred, ingrediants) place over top roast and potatoes, so your lid fits tightly again, and let cook 30 to45 minutes longer. It done for tonight , dig in. be sure about half of all ingrediants are left . and refridgerate in crock pot. next day; chop up all leftovers into bitesize chunks, add,frozen veggies and gravy, and mix well. Then take piecrusts out of fridge and let sit for15 to20 mins (so they get closer to room temp) and turn oven to preheat to 350%. Then find 4 oven proof soup bowls,or I use minny bread loaf pans spray with nonstick baking spray , and drape piecrusts in and over the edges of soupbowls. laddel what is in crockpot into crusts leaving enough room to gather the edges, of the crust ,that are overhanging the bowls together above the bowl and twist them, or pinch them together, sealing the crust over the top. Place in oven for 35 to 45 minutes. Depending on how brown you like your crust. And let cool for5 to 10 minutes.add water to thin whats left over into a stew and enjoy the next day or freeze for another time. Bon Appitete! Suzii

These look really good. On the last recipe, reserve the liquid you removed when making the tacos. Then you can add it back in before serving any leftovers over rice. It also looks like it would be good using soft tortillas to make burritos.

there's a lot of water because you soaked your potatoes overnight in water.

@@lorihanlon5389 You can make gravy right in the crock pot!! Just add a couple tablespoons of corn starch (how many depends on how much liquid you have), stir it in well and let it simmer on low for another half an hour....perfect gravy!

Not sure if anyone else has suggested it but take 6 to 8 chicken thighs (boneless, skinless are best), add 1 can jellied cranberry sauce and 1 bottle of Russian salad dressing. Cook on high for about 4 hours. It is great served over white rice. I have also used jellied cranberry Sauce with a bottle of BBQ sauce instead of the Russial salad dressing.
