For me, it’s not about my lack of attention span, I rarely have an hour to waste “television”, which is basically what KZbin is. I at least try and watch things that are edifying and helpful like this, but I always have to speed up and fast-forward because I don’t have an hour to sit around. Nothing I think they’re lovely and I like that all the information is there . Maybe it’s not all attention that’s the problem . ❤

So, several years ago when you started prepping your freezer meals, I started doing them, too. However, since my handwriting is illegible and I gift a lot of meals, I bought 4x5" labels in bulk and used an online well known label design application to type up all the different labels. All I write in is the date, # of servings and I left 2 lines on the bottom for notes. Everything else is already preprinted and saves me from making mistakes or omissions. For some folks that have allergies, I also later added a list of basic ingredients (like "includes dairy, butter, soy, wheat, corn, etc). The labels have been a game changer and eliminated any questions.

Kitchen tip: You don’t need to get disposable pans. Layer your 9x13 Pyrex pan with foil with overhang, fill it, then freeze. Once solid, lift contents out of Pyrex and wrap in foil and store in freezer. It takes up less room, and when you go to use, unwrap and plop back in pan. Pretty much everyone has one of these pans.
@mansfieldfamily53894 ай бұрын
Not sure how you'd do this when you're making a whole bunch of meals at once though.
@user-mc3tp5sd2z4 ай бұрын
@@mansfieldfamily5389 she has several Pyrex pans she got for this purpose. I don’t have the freezer space Becky does, so I make one for the oven, and double the recipe so I have one for the freezer. Once it freezes, I pop it out of the pan, wrap it and put it back in. Then when I go to cook, take out of the freezer, drop it into the pan to bake. This saves me freezer space.

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your kitchen and all the wonderful recipes! I have been watching for a few weeks and just completed my first big batch cooking of freezer meals. I am a widow and found it hard to scale back and just cook for myself, so usually just shared what I made with my daughters or parents or friends so I didn't eat the same thing several days in a row. I was in the habit of cooking a few meals on Saturday and just re-heating throughout the whole week. My oldest daughter works second shift and mentioned it has been hard to cook healthy meals when she is tired after her shift or got busy and forgot to thaw meat before leaving for work. She has issues with her blood pressure and wanted to stop getting fast food or restaurant meals so much due to amount of sodium in them. I decided your meal planning/freezer meals would be the answer for both of us. I printed a ton of recipes from your videos and other websites and put them in a 3 ring binder in sheet protectors (I ended up with 2 of the 3 ring binders full). I also included several of my own tried-and=true recipes just to have everything in the same place. I spent a day shopping at Costco and Aldi and the next day started cooking. It took me 2 days (5 to 6 hours each) because I can't stand for long periods of time due to injuries from car accident years ago. I ended up with 6 different breakfast meals and 14 dinner meals for each of us. I made the lasagna noodles, tortillas, and sub rolls from scratch. Total cost was $290 which we split. I packaged my meals into smaller portions so ended up with more bags/containers than she did, but now I won't have to eat the same thing several days in a row and we both have nutritious meals ready to go that will last us quite awhile. Her husband loved what he ate so far and said we need to do again and they both will help so it goes faster and doesn't flare up my pain levels as much. I am looking forward to that as it will be quality time together too! Thank you for the inspiration! I have been baking since I was 5 and love spending time in the kitchen, but your process helped me kick it up another level. You are a blessing!

I cannot think of a more wonderful and supportive gift than this for an expectant mother, especially one with two other children already! Your sister will no doubt think of you with love and gratitude each time she makes up any of these to feed their family. I've NO idea how you're able to get SO MANY MEALS made in such a short time frame...well, actually that's not entirely true. I kinda do. You worked your butt off putting up all the produce from your garden so that you could just open jars and frozen veg in freezer bags to make up things more quickly! But still, it's AMAZING how many meals and treats you managed to make up in one long morning...absolutely amazing. So loving and supportive of you!

ngl it’s a little depressing that when a woman has given birth, it’s still on her to figure out dinners while she recovers, unless she has an awesome female family member like you around. You even mention how easy it will be for her to throw these things in the crock pot. Just seems like these things could be the husband’s dominion while the wife puts in the labor of gestating, birthing, recovering, and rearing an infant.

One batch of dough can last for months. You could even pre-scoop them but freeze before baking, like with your biscuits or the little garlic pucks. Then you have little nuggets to pull out for the sheet pan and don’t even need to dirty a knife. Hmmm, I might start doing that. Will take up more space in the freezer though and may not last as long.

It's getting very warm here, in the 90s by Tuesday, but I'm trying to buy a rotisserie chicken from Sprouts every Monday for a while, for broth and freeze the chicken for salads, etc, over Summer. You taught me to use the slow cooker for broth and I used all of mine before fall last year, during illnesses. We get sick during the tourist seasons and it was so good, I'm sure it helped heal us!! Thanks for helping me can meals for those dreaded summer days.I 'm actually getting beautiful tomatoes and will be planting Everglades Tomatoes this weekend. Thanks again.

I wants to say a great big thank you, Becky. I learned from you when I cut onions or peppers to bulk chop and freeze those not needed for the recipes and freeze them . I recently had a fall resulting in both shoulders sprained, injured knee and broken left arm (at the end where it meets the shoulder so can’t be cast. Have sling and have to immobilize for two weeks) So glad I had those chopped veggies in my freezer. I am left hand dominant so struggling to do every day task. Freezer meals are saving my hide too. Thank you

I live, mostly, on my own, as my daughter is away at college. These ideas and recipes will help me as I don’t always want to cook a meal as such, when it’s just me. I can batch cook and put in the freezer and take out my single portions as and when I want them. Plus it will also help if my daughter makes an unannounced trip home, and I’ll have meals for her to eat, without worrying. Thankyou so much Becky xx

I’m so thankful I came across your channel today. It was providence, I’m convinced. I was just telling my daughter that I wanted to prepare, in advance, freezer meals for her when she gives birth in April. Her family will LOVE all of these recipes!

What a great gift to your sister! I'm going to start giving the gift of food. I mean everyone eats and it's so nice to have something you can make in a zip if you need a break and don't want to cook. This is great! Glad I found this channel ❤

Your videos have reminded me about freezer meals ahead. I started about a month ago in that direction. Today I enjoyed the benefits. I pulled a meal for the crock pot while I made a double batch of oatmeal raisin choc chip cookie dough. i made some cookies and froze most in pan ready form. I portioned out my Greek yoghurt in "pucks" for individual servings and froze them. Then I cleaned a kitchen drawer and vacuumed! That was it for me! I was happy to have my frozen meal bail me out! My goal is to start doing more freezer meals. I only have the stamina for a few hours on my feet these days. But it does help. Thanks for your time and sharing. 😊💛🐸💚🐸😎

Hello Becky, I love your freezer meal videos. The meals are even more special when you use the majority of the ingredients that you grew in your garden and also preserved them. It is wonderful how your family takes care of each other. I love your channel.

Your parents raised a very special family. I’m laughing while thinking about how I made my sister one, just one fat turkey patty today for her lunch. And I was so tired from cooking afterwards. 😂
